Same one I have, but I put mine on the passenger side, not the drivers side.

Mine is the ol eBay special yeah.

Did it mount with the OEM screws and was it hard to aim?

No aiming necessary, just bolt it up with the stock screws.

Been thinking of adding a back up camera to my OEM navi setup in my GT but didn't want to go thru the hassle of cutting up a stock piece. Plus this is cheap that if it doesn't work I wouldn't feel to bad about it really.

I don't think I could tolerate the mismatched colour temperature and beam pattern those licence plate lights create next to the stock light on the right hand side.

Nice. Can you take a shot of the rear of the car from a normal standing height? Curious what it looks like from that angle. What camera is that, BTW?

More pics for you good sir! My camera isn't very stealthy, but I ran it the way Go~Rilla had on his trunk before we did the swap.

I thought this looked pretty good:

I actually did drill behind the plate to pass the wire though. Tiny 1/8" hole. I cut off the cable end then passed it though.

But then the thing started rusting out on me, so it looks bad now. I'm going to have to replace it.

The picture is great, and it doesn't have the annoying lines on it. I fed it directly in to the input on my lcd screen, but lately I've been trying to feed it in to a USB digitizer so my car PC can switch to/from it as desired.

I use it as a tow camera- I like to see the trailer behind me, and I have a second camera on the trailer that I can switch to so I can see behind it too. Was VERY useful for backing last summer- I pulled in to a gas station and for some reason no-one was moving... Waited far longer than I wanted to, then was able to back out in tight quarters and continue on.

  • 2 weeks later...
I just ordered the CCD version of the eBay camera. Going to have it painted silver while the car is at the body shop. Now to try and dig up the LED license plate bulbs I bought 6 years go and never installed.

Do you have pics of the camera installed?
