Garandman
I've owned two 4EAT cars, own a 5EAT car with VTD (but no VDC) and just purchased a car with the manual 50/50 system and VDC. Obviously if I didn't have confidence in them I wouldn't have purchased my 4th one. That said, there is a big difference in the robustness of the STi system, with a mechanical center differential, mechanical front and rear differentials, and DCCD. That doesn't mean the other Subaru systems are ineffective in street use: but they are not the same. That's much of why the STi costs $10,000 more than a WRX. IwannaSportSedan
But then why does it cost roughly the same price as Legacy Spec B and 3.0R Limited, and similarly equipped outbacks. Legacy/Outback has a bit nicer interior, STI has a bit more performance, but underneath, the hardware may not be the same, but seems to be pretty darn similar. fishbone
Oh good, finally some justification for me driving a slushbox, autotragic 5EAT.
