redpill66
Not sure what could have caused this or how I am going to fix it, but my left headlight all of the sudden has uneven light distribution and a very noticeable gap where there wasnt one before. Has anyone seen this before?
Gire
Yes, I've noticed that when the H7 bulb is aging or about to go... I am a Philips lighting rep so I have put about 25 sets of various lights in my Legacy over the last few years... some have a dark spot right out of the box, others develop this over time. I suggest swapping in a new fresh pair of H7's, but remember to swap both in at a time. You don't want an old bulb working in conjunction with a new bulb. You'll have different current draws and will toast the bulbs faster that way.
redpill66
Phew. I was worried it was going to be something a lot more serious. Thanks for the quick reply
Gire
If you haven't altered the insides of the light housing (ie: cleared your corners, etc) then I'm sure it will be a bulb issue. Or you have a dead bird splattered across the headlight... but I think you'd have noticed that.
ehsnils
at the dead bird. Just make sure that the bulbs are mounted correctly too, otherwise there may be a very strange result.
redpill66
Judging by the image I just looked at of the bulb, putting it in wrong would be quite a feat. (other than maybe upside down)
