mwiener2 Posted August 3, 2009 Share Posted August 3, 2009 Ok, the airbag Honda example isn't a good one. Here's a better one. Turbo banjo bolt filter. Many, many turbos have died due to a clogged banjo bolt filter. Subaru released a TSB that said, "If you're in there, take it out." That's one that EVERYONE really should do whether they think they need it or not. But it's the same point. People experienced an issue, and Subaru responded. It happens to some cars, but not the majority of them. (you could also look at it as needing to remove the oil filter cause it too could get clogged and starve the engine of oil.. but that would be like saying you need to swap to a 5EAT to avoid TOB issues.)
