BoozeRS05
There are two distinct sides over whether you should bake forged wheels... It's been discussed in this thread I believe. While I'd give it a little more creedence than soap in the intercooler, I really don't think it's an issue. **EDIT** Pic! http://i.imgur.com/exKPUxa.jpg Can't wait to see them in person. Turkeylord
Turkeylord, you got them repainted stock silver??? They should be a bit darker than stock, I think the pic makes them look brighter than they are (fluorescent lighting, flash maybe). This is the powder used, they have some examples attached: http://www.prismaticpowders.com/colors/PMB-1756/

Turkeylord
Turkey, did you have to strip and clean them before powdercoating?Yes, my powder coater outsources the stripping. Apparently they were pretty stubborn.
BAC5.2
There are two distinct sides over whether you should bake forged wheels... It's been discussed in this thread I believe. There is absolutely no problem with powder coating forged wheels. Moderators BarManBean Posted May 4, 2013 Moderators Share Posted May 4, 2013 There is absolutely no problem with powder coating forged wheels. From my own research, it seems that the integrity of a wheel is much more likely to be reduced as a result of poorly executed stripping (overstripping, really) rather than the low-temp baking process used by most powdercoaters. BigBlack-V
I think that IMO that is just a rumor I mean I have had my wheels powder coated for 2+ years without any issues. These are forged wheels, people powder coat rotas for shits sake and they are fine I was 0. And I'm still a zero.

ram7884
Hey guys, I just picked up my goldies from Ye Olde Wheel Shop from being completely refinished. They used proprietary Subaru colors and the gold is as close to perfect as I have ever seen. If you are in MD I would HIGHLY recommend these guys because their work is nothing short of phenomenal. Unfortunately, i'm selling the car to buy a house so these must go. I'll be making a FS thread this weekend with pictures but feel free to PM me if you think you might be interested in a brand new set of goldies!
