Dergara
Anybody bought and used any good snow chains on an LGT or OBXT? “Abandon hope, all ye who enter here” -Dante Alighieri http://youtu.be/lLFunBPgPOo
Beanboy
I know Subaru says you can't use them on the front. I never bothered, drive enough in the snow here in NE and local regs don't require them. I think some folks have had issues with the realyl low profile wire versions. -B http://www.standardshift.com

Dergara
I have an OBXT. What about the Thule brand? “Abandon hope, all ye who enter here” -Dante Alighieri http://youtu.be/lLFunBPgPOo
YCAGEL TG
As Phil said, all you need is a great set of snow tires with these things. Some of the driveways that people make out here in Vermont are absolutely absurd. Some of them unplowed and just a sheet of ice.

Except that some states have chain control and you can't drive on certain roads without chains at certain times.
DrCloud
It's always worth reading up on the fine print in those "chain control" statues. Many states (Colorado & NM, for example) have exceptions for AWD vehicles equipped with winter tires. In those states, conditions that require full chains on all vehicles leads to simply closing the road. HPH

They normally close the road, but not always. Also, in CA even in said AWD snow tired car, you're still technically required to carry chains that fit the car to pass chain control. And the "snow tire" requirement in CA can be met with any M&S rated radial, including the notoriously bad RE92s. :o
