jeffk
Does the rumoured 2006 navigation system offer spoken prompts? If so, will that open up an aux input for the headunit?
S4
If it's based on the same system as the B9, then maybe we have this to look forward to: http://www.nasioc.com/gallery/B9Tribeca/?ImageName=DSC_0092nasioc.JPG
PGT
S4 - do you know if that is a feed to the in-dash screen or a feed for an optional one for rear-seat occupants?
theJrod
S4 - do you know if that is a feed to the in-dash screen or a feed for an optional one for rear-seat occupants? yeah, what he said ^^^^ Is that input or ouput? If input, that's exactly what we need.
S4
I have no clue. There's a button on the stereo that says "RSE AUX". I wonder if that indicates that it's for the rear-seat aux-in? I'll try to find out when I go to the Chicago auto show (already have my tickets )
PGT
RSE = Rear Seat Entertainment If so, it means zip for us re: adding an MP3 to an '06 NAV system or stereo.
jdepew
At the RIC auto show, I was told the audio from the RSE could be heard up front, it was only the video that wouldn't work up front on the nav screen when in motion. In fact they explicitly stated that the video from RSE would show up on the Nav when parked, and that those are inputs and intended for use with a video game system, so sure, an iPod or carputer would work fine there. S4
In many cars that have video lockout in drive there are simple override mods to allow the video to be seen while driving (for the front passenger of course!)
