One thing that many WRX owners don't know - in that car, the A/C is on intermittently whenever the dial in on defrost or mix - the A/C light would never come on either. I could actually feel the difference in power as it cycled on and off on cold days while defrosting.
The Legacy seems to work the same exact way, except it tells you when the A/C is on or cycling on/off. I'd much rather know this, then not know like in the WRX. It took me months of trying to figure it out before I realized it was the A/C compressor robbing my power in the wintertime!
