mrmako
I also ordered some dynamat sheets that I have to cut out myself, but did you dampen the whole door? or just what I see in the pics, ty for the tutorials!! The only deadening I have is what was already in the door. I should have gotten some as long as I had the door popped open. Sorry, I can't help on that. Edit: I do have some foam I put by the crossover, but that was more for mounting than deadning.
legacyshawn
Hey just wanted to post my results after todays install thanks to mrmako. Here is some of my install pics. Instead of dynamat, i used FrostKing duct insulation self adhesive foil and foam roll. One roll (12" x 1/8" x 15') was enough to fully cover the two front doors and the front door panels for only $19. Also, I ran speaker wires which was a complete PITA so i cut a little slit in the rubber hose after removing the seal on the door, used a zip to as a fishing line to pull attach to my speaker wires and pull it through. Electrical tape the hole closed and resealed and looks like stock. http://i1301.photobucket.com/albums/ag113/shabbasi/IMG_1963_zps3c110251.jpg http://i1301.photobucket.com/albums/ag113/shabbasi/IMG_1961_zpscf24799f.jpg http://i1301.photobucket.com/albums/ag113/shabbasi/IMG_1958_zpse2be95d9.jpg

hitmn
Sorry but I have to ask. Are you using factory stereo for these speakers, or you have additional amplifier ? thanks
legacyshawn
I have the stock stereo wired to a equalizing digital line 6 channel line out converter (audio control LCQ-1) then wired to a precision power p900.5. It pushes about 75 watts per channel at 4 ohms then like 400 watts to the sub at 2 ohm. There would be no reason for aftermarket wiring if I was going off the headunit. 1-3-2-4
So that's the only place for the crossover right?
mrmako
So the job I did was adding the speakers to the existing factory head unit. It worked out just fine, and there is enough power to drive the Polks. For the crossover, the door was the most convenient. I'm sure I could have opened up under the dashboard and found a place there but the door had room and they fit.
