Autoblog has bunch more pics in it's gallery. It looks like a stretched Elise to me. Kinda disappointed that it's coming with the 3.5L Toyota V6 making 276 hp in a car that weights "just over 3000 lbs". I mean the Toyota Camry where this engine comes from only weights in at ~3400 lbs. I know 400 lbs is a lot of weight to shed but you are looking at paying close to $100k for this car. Lotus should have been able to do better in the weight department.

See.. Why can't Subaru come out with a design that looks good at first sight? I'm not saying they need to make something like that, but at least stop all these awkward and ugly designs that takes too many people too long to warm up to?

See, and I was thinking this was looking a lot like a recent subaru rumored sketch....

in the roofline. Obviously the Lotus is a mid-engined car.

A Corvette Z06 weighs 3100lbs and has 500hp to play with, so why bother with this?

You seriously need to step away from the Subaru kool-aid every once in a while LOL

sorry If I can see some similarity to the window glass. I am not saying Lotus copied it. Other cars have had upswept quarter glass for decades, it is no longer original. Not that it looks bad, but it isn't new.

And, btw, are there any members on this forum who are more critical of Subaru than I am? Not exactly drinking their kool-aid, here.

that car looks very sleek, i woudl love to roll around in one of those. although the current specs are a little disappointing......i bet most of the weight comes from the powerplant....lotus should really consider other options

Because Corvette isn't the only sports car ever built.

Because people who think it is make me like the corvette even less.

Not that I am going to buy a Lotus Eagle, either... But this sycophantic corvette worship puts some people off.

Anything from the Sol/Sky to Ferraris/Lambos/Bugatti... etc. get compared to Corvette.

Sure, Corvette is a good car, and is a value. But what has Corvette exactly done that has made it the yardstick that EVERYTHING is measured against?

Personally, Corvette is one of the sports cars that I gloss over, and kind of ignore just for that reason. Not that it is a bad car, but because it is pushed and pushed, and pushed. And I think it is generally kind of bland and numb, style-wise, inside and out.

I think its because the vette can run tracks well, run a 10.9 in the 1/4mile stock at 126mph, looks amazing and gets 25mpg freeway. All the other cars with the same power and 1/4mile time get less than 20mpg and or cost 200k+. And they do it with so called ancient pushrod engine.

I agree. And power to weight is not the only thing about a car either, but its about the only thing the vette has though. Thats why cars with less hp can be faster around the track. If this lotus stays true to its form, it could be quite a car.

all i ever hear on the forum is around a track, do you drive on a track to work? Do you drive on a track every day? How about every other day? Every week? Every month? I dont i drive on the street where the vette beats the GTR.
