Ferenczy33
So I'm in lovely Northern California where wildfires have been raging out of control for about a week now, and here in Sacramento we are on our 5th day or so of extremely smoky, unhealthy air. The news keep reporting that smoke and ash particulates count in the air has been off the charts. This had me thinking about the air my LGT is breathing, and how efficiently it can filter out this particulate matter and if it could possibly lead to my LGT's oil getting dirtier, faster. Any thoughts?
PeterJMC
I think it would affect your air filter more than your oil.
ehsnils
No big risk for the oil. Either the air filter catches it or it will get combusted in the engine. The small amounts that may pass into the oil are so small that you won't notice any difference from ordinary conditions.
