Pawlwawl06
Sorry for the delayed response, here it is: Number: 82501FE010 - RELAY AY "Customer states vehicle seems to get hot after driving and then sitting at a stop since last service. Found open circuit in cooling fan relay. Replaced relay & retest system." That should help. The car does not overheat at all now.

Pawlwawl06
For those interested, I found out the problem yesterday. One of my cooling fan motors was busted, no relay problem found this time.

2.5_Imp
I'm having similar problems with a 2005 Legacy 2.5i. The cooling fans only work intermittently. The car will not actually overheat, but the temperature will rise above normal. Any solutions? The relays appear to work fine, at least when they are working. I don't want to just throw parts at the problem, and hope that it goes away.
cseagle08
Maybe the fans/relays are dying from overuse from sitting in the dang drive thru's all the time? haha
2.5_Imp
Maybe the fans/relays are dying from overuse from sitting in the dang drive thru's all the time? haha Yes! This ended up being the problem. My 2005 2.5i is just about to hit 105,000, and the radiator fan was dead, and the A/C condenser fan only worked intermittently. Hecho en Mexico, just like countless other parts on the 2005 Legacy. The cooling fans on my 2002 Impreza are still running strong at 155,000.
