dwiens87
I just bought some Nokya hyper yellow 9006 fog lights for my 05 Beanie and the owners manual says 55w but the lights are 70w. Am i risking anything from putting these in?
Scooby Fan
I was advised by the "Techs" at my dealer that they have had a number of "Fried" wiring harnesses with guys going to higher wattage bulbs. At your own risk!! When I drove Toyotas I always used 100 watt headlamp and foglamp bulbs....No Problems....Subaru????
dwiens87
If i buy the voltage adapter things and splice em will that prevent any frying?
Corny357
Had to bring this back from the dead cause I just did the same thing. Hey! At least I searched! Anyone have anymore to say on this?
TSiWRX
Don't know, specifically, about the '08+ models, but for the '05 - and thus, through assumption only, up through the '07s - the wiring is marginal for the typical 85W overwattage application (H3) that is popular for the early-variant vehicles: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/fog-light-problem-help-97780.html?highlight=relay For the '08-'09, which use a 9006 for the fogs, I'd honestly simply do just a simple 65W HIR1 "hi-lo" mod. You'll gain significantly more usable light, particularly if you re-aimed to your liking, and it's not such a big jump in juice..... <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family

Strizzy
I could be wrong, but... fuses? anyone? I find that paperclips work best... But stock amperage fuses work fine. My bad luck build
ClimberDHexMods
yeah yet another magical wires melting before fuses thread. God forbid your HIDs are too raw and badass for stock wires and their under-rated per corresponding wire gauge fuses. naimouasta
i had this issue LOL. the fogs suck anyway and so i just wanted yellow bulbs for looks.i bought those nokya bulbs too. i thought the rating on the box was fake like those ricer bulbs that are a certain wattage but equal to a billion watts. happened to me when i had my lights on and i sat in traffic for 2hrs on a super hot day. i think the fogs are too small so it had no way to dissipate the heat. heres the link to my thread http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/my-foglight-bulb-assploded-120017.html?t=120017 . i redid the harness using "high temp" plugs etc etc. no issues since. i also make sure my fogs are off when i'm sitting in traffic. yellow fogs.http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/7276/dsc07032m.jpg
