So i did my center console since it had burn scuffs on it. I will post my old interior set up at work tomorrow since I have my old pics at work... wierd how that works.

The shift knob is the MOMO automatico knob which i bought from AKLGT

The ebrake boot is the faux alcantera boot from redline which i bought from mines.

What can't be seen and will take a pic soon is the STI Pedals which i purchased from Rommel.

The painting process was quite simple took 3 days total.

Materials used:

1200 grit wed sand paper

Rubbing Alcohol (to clean after sanding)

Bulldog Paint Adhesive (used as primer)

SEM Texture Coat (idea i got from the HCA headunit pics where they explain the paints they use)

SEM Trim Black

Screwdriver (to take off center console, same steps as cabin filtration install http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1626&highlight=cabin+filtration)

Piece of leather (to rub down the paint after its dry so it takes all the rough and loose paint off, i used my old ebrake boot for this)

Filtered Mask (bulldog is quite toxic, as is any type of auto/spray paints)

Beer of choice (can't stress this enough 6 pack is fine 12 is preferred)

After the initial sanding and clean process i did the following:

1) Lay down three thin layers of the bulldog paint adhesive 3 min between each.

2) After 15 min lay down 3 wet coats of texture coats with 5 min dry time between coats.

3) After another 5 min of dry time for the last texture coat apply two wet coats of trim black paint with 5 min dry time in between the coats. After those two coats are done i allowed 48 hours for the paint to fully dry.

4) Rub the trim pieces after the dry process with leather to take off any loose particles of paint and dust.

5) Don't forget to drink between coats to reassure you that your doing an awesome job...even if your not..(i had to repaint the two side pieces cause i didn't catch it all hence the 3 days instead of the 2 day period)

So let me know what you think!

Your thread along with some others that I read on nasioc inspired me to do this myself.

Here is my version. Did this the other day with Krylon Fusion flat black after sanding all of the paint off.

That looks sick too! How did you get that ashtray door off! I couldn't manage to get it off from the ashtray assembly once i pulled it all out.

Yeah thats the thing i wanted to pull just the door out. I had to pull out the whole thing anyway but i just didn't want to paint it while it was still on the assembly.

How did you not paint over the labels (Temp, etc)...

Those labels do come off. They are just attached by some weak adhesive backing. Just use a flathead behind them and they pop right off. Other than that all of the buttons pop out with a little technique. The screens are the only things you have to mask.

i believe i will be doing that when i get the cleansweep to install. Since it would require some serious wiring for my amp and speakers.
