ashdoggy
I have an 05 5eat and sometimes while shifting it stutters for about second before the next gear engages. Just curious if its a serious problem or maybe a fluid problem. thanks
FletchLives
I too get random and intermittent knocks (hard shifts), especially when down shifting (i.e., approaching a stop sign / light). Because the issue is so random and intermittent, I have never been able to duplicate it for the stealership. I am hoping my upcoming Trans fluid change will help. sschmelcke
ditto on the occasional hard downshifting. never slipped on me though. i think its just how it works
dr. pepper
Manually forcing it to downshift into first always produces a really hard shift for my car, this is coming to a stop at maybe 5-15 mph...
kjiz
Yeah I get this too on upshifts and downshifts. But it happens so rarely I never thought much of it.
Opie
Sounds like your fluid is toast. I'd get the tranny flushed...

eqt2010
Mine gets better after adding a bottle of BG ATC+.
fonts
Saw this thread earlier and didn't have a whole bunch to add. I also have a little bit of tranny hesitation/stutter described. Of course I had concerns that this was causing strain on the diff. Pulled my tires to make sure that diameters were consistent. Of course they all were and didn't think a whole bunch more about the issue. Then on Friday I got the car protuned (was previously running Cobb Stage II). Issue is now GONE. What an incredible difference in drivability in general. Well worth the $$$.
