Tranny still like new. Best Auto tranny I have ever owned. Always seems to be in the right gear.

Is the 5eat a different tranny in the 07-09 than the 5EAT in the 05 and 06? And if so, how do they compare and which version can handle better power?

^Not really that different from what I understand, at least not enough to deem them stronger or weaker. They should be just about the same.

08 had my car for almost 3 yrs

stage 2 tuned by rallitek

tracked 2-3 times a year along with lots of canyon running

blown trans at 39k mi along with blown torque converter at the same time.

mods are erz catted dp with custom prodrive exhaust, ap pulley, avo intake and boat load of suspension parts and tru cool 4454 trans cooler.

 

I got a replacement rebuilt trans and torque converter on warranty. Dunno how both blew up at the same time.

 

I never launch my car and it blew before I got to stage 2.5. Most of my stage 2.5 parts are sitting in my closet.

when i hit the accelerate gas pedal and start to change gear 2 i heard knock sound from the engine...any clue what that is? shud i flush and change ATF oil?mine 40++ mileage.

sold my outback stage 3.5 with 5eat. 112k on the clock. started slipping a bit. now have the 3.6r with 5eat and 26k miles. so far so good
