sweetchaos
I want to lower my Legacy 1.5 inches or 2 inches but i cant really afford coilovers. The pink STI springs only lowers the car 15mm. Are there any other springs out there that would work for our car?
axis008
http://www.racecompengineering.com/legacy.htm > Swift springs: 25mm front, 15mm back. $500 A few other people have springs that are in the prototype stage from companies such as Tanabe and TEIN. I can't remember off the top of my head which other companies are developing springs, but I know there are a couple more. -ben
Sands
If you lower the car that much, the geometry will go south on you. Too much camber gain unless you run a lot of static camber. For handling, the has a pretty low CG already. If you drop it much more then 20-25mm expect the body roll to go up in corners, not down.
GTCanada
The STi springs on USDM struts lower ~30mm (about an inch) not the advertised 15mm. I would not go lower. Actually, I would prefer 15mm. Tom
Guest *Jedimaster*
What about cutting a few coils out of the springs?
rao
That will defiantely make it lower It would be more like cutting a part out of one of the coils, if you cut 2 coils it would drop the car 4-6" in the rear and over 6"" in the front;) Rob IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR YOU SHOULD NEVER DRIVE IT
sweetchaos
sounds kind of dangerous I think the Swift Springs are what im looking for.
Guest *Jedimaster*
I just remember in high school we would cut a piece of the spring out and it would lower the car/truck. We didn't have money to buy new springs.

fressshhh
thats cheep... almost too cheep yea...that is dirt cheap. I bought pinks myself but just wanted to share that with people. The WRX people seem to be happy with them though. I would wait for s-techs if I wanted a good drop.

Chapel
hmm... I'll probably get the Tein springs. I hope the factory struts are up to the job. I've never just bought springs for a car... I always do a HUGE suspension make over when I mess with the footwork. I'd like some 17" wheels first though The only thing I don't like about the 2.5i is that it just doesnt look as aggressive as the GT because of the wheels. I think springs and wheels will be just enough to get me through the 4 year lease I dont wanna spend too much.
