Robbins usually make better-than-OEM quality equipment, and are a favorite Miata replacement top, as well as replacement tops for classic cars. Something like that, I would upgrade under circumstances like that, if it has to be installed anyway. I will probably end up getting one of their better-than-stock tonneau covers, as the Miata's tonneau is unthreading at the seams, and the buttons are pulling out. If the top were to go, I would get a Robbins replacement. GLASS REAR WINDOW. ALWAYS A GLASS REAR WINDOW. Plastic is crap, gets creased, and cloudy in UV sunlight exposure, road grit and grime, and cleaning chemicals. plastic rear windows never last like glass does. You only have to be slightly more careful to fold the top easily, not harshly with a glass rear window. Glass windows, with or without zip-down, rear defrosters, better materials, including actual high-grade external canvas, and premium vinyl, and tauter patterns. Some designs actually have wider and larger rear windows which help with visibility and blind spots. John M Posted March 14, 2008 Share Posted March 14, 2008 I've helped swap the top on a friend's Mustang (95) before. It wasn't extremely difficult but it was time consuming.
