First Love

we've always had hondas and this was my first car that i drove exclusively from march '02 up until october '07. its gone through a lot since i've had it. it was wrecked in the rear of the car and had since been fixed. i've done little things to it like prelude seats and some interior work. i finally put the rear disk brake setup on it which is somewhat rare on these. also has a ceramic painted header pipe out to a 2.25 inch cat back that duals out for an M3 look. no real mufflers, just a couple of glass packs, one long and one short in line, that sound nice and deep. in october its cylinder head gasket blew and so its been parked. it now has a rebuilt head with a weber 32/36 dgev carburetor. so it should breath pretty nice one i get it running. it needs some other work, but not too much. i'll be doing some body work and getting it painted in the near future. this car is automatic which is really nice for city driving. i've already replaced the transmission once so next time it will have a 5 speed manual, if need be. when i had it tuned correctly, it was fairly quick and had a noticeable bit more power than any others i've driven. anyways, i dont plan to ever sell this car. it has too much invested into it and is pretty nice for being 21 years old. i hope to get it running within this week. its almost completely pieced back together, i'm just waiting on a few more parts then it should be good to go. this is a real fun car to drive and usually can show off other hondas that are newer.

here's some engine for ya. i plan to take some of that unnecessary stuff out like old vacuum lines and other emissions related crap. also plan to redo some of the wiring like for the fog lights and stereo amplifier. this first one is how it looks now. theres also the head when i got it back last week. and the valve cover that i polished out a while back.

oh man the memories!

i forgot about one of my 1st real loves, cant recall if it was a 90 or 91?

i know mine had FI, but that thing was so reliable.

it was black and looked exactly like yours.... it was my brothers 1st and it actually got stolen twice!!! (cause i worked in Hartford!)

anyhow, i sold it to my nephew w/ near 300k miles and he drove it for a year till the dumbass got it impounded cause he got caught without registration.

he let the garage keep it but the thing still ran fine so i have no clue what became of it...

sigh....

Most of my older cars were owned before I had a digital camera, so not too many up-loadable photos to share...

My latest Acura though is attached. I loved that little car. It handled better in the mountains (in summer) than my GT!!!

yes they did.

i've actually got projectors from a 3000GT that i was planning on installing but never got around to making brakets and lenses and whatnot. but i'm debating wheather or not to put those on my honda because the pop ups are just so unique for that car.

very few sedans, except for maybe the accord, integra of the late '80s had those. but those things do create a wind brake, very noticeable at highway speeds. with them up, it would get to about 115 mph, when them down about 125 mph. maybe now i wont have to worry about that with the added power it should have. i dunno. i do want it repainted though in the same color. very low key.

well i got this old car running again. finally had some free time to work on it. i took it out on the road and it runs pretty well. but i do need to tweek the carb and timing some more to get it just right. i hope to get the registration, inspection and insurance on it some time in the next few weeks so i can have a nice gas saver to cruise around in.
