KartRacerBoy
sooberoo, I begged my old man to get a Triumph GT6 instead of a 240Z back in 1970. He got the Z. Much better car but the GT6 is gorgeous. I never see them anymore, although I do see Spitfires.

fishbone
My journey is very short. 1989 Nissan Stanza manual that I think I owned sometime 2000-2001ish 1995 Nissan Sentra XE manual that I owned 2001-2004. I still have the car and it has not had a single mechanical problem 2003 Nissan Altima V6 automatic owned 2004-2007 2005 Legacy GT from 2007 to present day That's a short list for someone that's 28 years old but I've "only" been in the US for coming up on 12 years. fishbone
17. Moved here in summer of 97, so I guess not quite that close to 12 years. Didn't get into driving until later. It's one thing to have a license and another to own a car You've been here your whole life, we had to catch up
joeleodee
This looks fun. Let's see if I remember. 1996-First car purchased at 16. '72 Monte Carlo bone stock 2bbl single exhaust. Primary vehicle for 3 years. 1999- '88 Chevy Nova. Great on gas, excellent reliability, slow as snot, purchased so I could do work on the Monte Carlo. 2001- '90 Toyota Pickup with lift kit and Super Swampers. Purchased so I could learn to drive a stick, and I like trucks. 2002- Got married and inherited an 87 Chevy Celebrity. Excellent reliability, but slow as snot. 2003- Sold truck and purchased my parents '98 Subaru Legacy GT LTD, and thus began my obsession with Subarus. 2003 (late)- Found out 3rd kid was on the way and purchased a '97 Lexus LX450 SUV. Horrible on gas, but willing to give up a bit of money to not drive a minivan. Went 5 years without a vehicle purchase. 2008- '05 Subaru LGT LTD. BTW, I still have my first car, but it is a far cry from bone stock now. I've always liked the old muscle cars, but I do not like Japanese imports unless they are Subarus. I don't know why I'm a sucker for Subarus.

sooberoo
sooberoo, I begged my old man to get a Triumph GT6 instead of a 240Z back in 1970. He got the Z. Much better car but the GT6 is gorgeous. I never see them anymore, although I do see Spitfires. Mine was a pale pastel yelow color called "Pale Primrose". Gorgeous! The bumpers were there just for effect, simply bolted to the sheet metal! It was so low to the ground that you could reach out the window and pick up pebbles off the ground! Clam shell hood that opened up so you could sit on the tire and work on the carbs, it was a pretty cool looking car. The last year I had it I replaced the clutch, added a header, ansa exhaust and rebuilt the carburetors. It was fast! It would lay down rubber in the first 3 gears! Unfortunately this ended up being the end of the car. Too many aggressive launches and the transmission was starting to go. I imagine most of them just up and rusted away, both the GT6 and the spitfire were notorious for rust. I had a cousin who owned a Spitfire with a GT6 engine and running gear. It was a fun car and the top went down! For those unfamiliar with the car here is a gif of a schematic of the car. http://home.no.net/aegranby/pic_gt6-plan.gif
