BIU Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 My current setup: -Stage 2 Cobb OTS map -AVO intake -Stock TMIC -Grimmspeed coated uppipe -Stock VF40 -FLOW shorty dp -Stock rear dp section with 3rd cat -Stock midpipe with stock resonator -Custom 2.5" Y-pipe -AVO rear mufflers Inside the cabin: -exactly the noise level i want -good low rumble -loud turbo + intake suction noise My friend took my car out for a drive today and i followed with his car in the back....with the windows down i was trying to listen to my car's exhaust note etc..... Everything i hear from startup to moderate speed i can hear the exact noise level and rumble that i hear from inside the cabin when im driving... BUT..... when my car goes WOT.... i've noticed that the exhaust rumble and exhaust tone goes and all i hear is a sound that is similiar to what you would hear when you hear an airplane take off....... no rumble....no deep exhaust tone...... Why is this?
rao Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 It is because you have a turbocharged 4 cylinder and not a v8 The exhaust note changes because the flow increases dramatically at WOT and the nature of having a turbo in the exhaust. Rob IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR YOU SHOULD NEVER DRIVE IT
BIU Posted February 2, 2008 Author Posted February 2, 2008 thanks for the clear up To me its almost a "hollow" sound if you may call it that..
