Chief_Wiggum
So I'm about to start an FX retrofit on my wagon, and have been reading as much as I can. VXCL indicates this is what a correct cutoff looks like: http://mywebpages.comcast.net/vxcl/legacy/xenon_guide/cutoff2.jpg But over on hidplanet, most of the cutoff pictures I see look like this: http://www.legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=47534&stc=1&d=1200489555 It would seem the first way is correct since in order to achieve the second, you would have to point both the headlights at the same spot (don't cross the streams!). Any other info about aiming HID projectors would be great. Thanks for the help. Mike

Chief_Wiggum
It's not my car. I just want to know whether the first picture is correct or the second.
mr_luv
Both, look good. Bottom is sharper though, the problem is they look to be differnt projectors. Mr.
LGT Dave
It's not my car. I just want to know whether the first picture is correct or the second. They both are. Look at the second one again. I think there are actually 2 beam patterns there, but it's hard to see the right one because they are lined up so well. Something like this: http://www.legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=47555&d=1200526218.

VXCL
Ah! Thanks, Dave. I see now. I wasn't looking at the picture closely enough. Thanks guys. lined up exactly the same just easier to see in my setup since the e39 projector throws alot of color over the cutoff making it easy to spot the 2nd passenger side, but mainly due to the fact that my pic is about 5-8 ft from the wall. if i backed up it would not be as defined and similar to your pic. KA81
on tge subject of adjusting the headlights all the places i can think of, i cant find a flat surface with at least 20 feets of space all i can think of doing is, backing into the garage and measure 20 feet from it and adjust them accordingly and use a bed sheet or something for the wall. where do you guys go, am i in a place with no flat spots?
