Leather and Moonroof alternatives

Recommended Posts

Anyone knows a good brand of aftermarket moonroof? I want a power one, preferably the type that slides in the roof, rather than outside. I have taken some info and it seems to be quite pricey (1200-1500 can$ with installation)
Not sure if anyone has seen the seats in the GT2, they are very expensive but look totally pure, very tasty I have to say. Unsure if STi will kit up to these specs!
Yes, actually those seats are also made by Recaro. If you want those in a Legacy, be prepared to pay! You may also have to make custom seat rails to install them, but any good fab shop should be able to whip you up a set. But it's a little extreme for a Leg. :)

Id like to get the Limited just for the sunroof on the wagon. not too worried about the leather as this will be my daily comfort car I'd love to get the JDM Nav system that also has digital performance gauges though... I hope they offer that here.

A vendor on nabisco said that he'd sell Katzkin's leather seat covers for the new Leg for the same price he's selling seat covers for the WRX. But Katzkin's got to get their hands on a new Leg to create the patterns.

Like the quality, cost, colors, a website, a thread... anything? Thanks guys :D

I know little about katzkin, but I found this website: http://www.katzkin.com/SITE/HTML/index.html I saw a blurb about leather seat covers averaging around $700 plus $500 for installation. Quality supposed to be very good though.

Both sell Katzkins. I installed a set in my WRX wagon, and they totally transformed the interior. The quality of the seat covers is excellent. I'm not sure if I'd want them in a Legacy GT (I think I might like the colors/pattern of the cloth seat covers), but it's nice to have that option for less than $2600.

I like the Recaro seats but I don't want to lose the heating. I think my wife would kill me. Personally, I was a little disappointed that the legacy didn't have an option for the two tone seats like on the WRX. Does anybody have experience with none leather seat covers. I've seen some pretty nice looking neoprene covers but I don't have any experience. Do they get hotter than cloth? How do they wear? Any ideas?

I am assuming the airbags will be in the seat in the Legacy. Subaru would have tested this with their factory installed upholstery, but Katzkins will not have done such testing.

Actually, Katzkin's *HAS* done their testing. I have a video of Katzkin's doing testing with side airbags, but I can't seem to find where I got the link from. But I do remember that the video deployed the airbag just as fast as factory leather. Edit: Never mind. Here is a link: http://www.katzkin.com/SITE/VIDEO/katzkinweb.mpg. By the way, where from the O.C. are you from outahere? As you can see I'm from Irvine, but I'm up here in Davis attending school.

Do you know if Katzkin tests for airbag deployment on ALL the cars for which they manufacture leather? Seems to me they would not have the financial resources to do that. I live next door, in Mission Viejo. But will soon be moving to snow country, hence my interest in the Legacy and AWD.

So, I guess you do get value for the Ltd. package. IMO, leather seats are worth $1000, moonroof is worth $800, engine immobilizer is worth $100, dual zone climate control is worth $400. Factor in that everything is backed by factory warranty, and the Ltd. package will add to resale value, if and when I get a GT Sedan, I think I'll opt for the Ltd. package.

looks more like a Corbeau TRS different belt holes though. Dont forget, the Ltd also comes with climate control Oh, and dont forget about Webasto full cloth sunroofs! Imagine that in the Wagon. You could get a full length Webasto cloth fold back roof http://www.webasto.us/am/en/am_auto_sunroofs.html If you are into Retro cars, you know all about the Webasto quality
