rocco Posted October 18, 2007 Share Posted October 18, 2007 Hi all, i'm curious if other owners have noticed the same shifter rattle as my car has been producing lately under light acceleration or simply revving it a bit in neutral. VtspecB Posted October 18, 2007 Share Posted October 18, 2007 I had a rattle at 55mph+. I have the Cobb STS installed. I pulled the boot and noticed that the nut on the bolt that holds the shifter to the linkage had come loose so that the nut/bolt assy rattled during just the right combination of variables. my vBGarage Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Underdog Posted October 18, 2007 Share Posted October 18, 2007 I had a rattle with my Cobb STS that I fixed by lubing the pin pivot (not the ball pivot) with standard lithium grease. Symptoms were present during aggresive acceleration and coasting at anything over 3k rpm. I drove around for a day or two with the shifter trim removed and narrowed it down by pressing at certain points to isolate the noise.
