tommypenguin
Instead of posting page after page in the criple creek meet thread figured I would start a thread for us to discuss college football and pro. Tomorrow is the big day for Penn State going at with Notre Dame. I think the lions got em this year but you never know.... Ohio State is playing there toughest threat Akron haha, Scott Buckeye won't have much to worry about. Anyone catch the colts dismantle the Saints? Legend
Helluva Bronco game today, indeed. Amazing finish... on the radio I guess one of the Broncos said the the Buffalo crowd was helping hurry the kick to get it off it time.... 6...5...4...3...2...1...kick...0...it's good! I'll be at the home opener next week... can't wait! Love the flyovers on the home openers. My '05 LGT My '07 Supercharged Shelby
scottybuckeye
Ohio State is playing there toughest threat Akron haha, Scott Buckeye won't have much to worry about. Turned out to be A LOT closer than expected. The defense looks very tight (not giving up any points), but man, this game our offense looked a lot worse. The week before looked pretty good after losing a Heisman QB, 2 receivers taken in the first round, and our starting RB (even though it was Youngstown State). I dunno about this coming week at Washington. They look pretty good and we didn't against Akron. Don't know how we moved up a couple spots to #10 in both polls. Good to see ND get b*tch smacked by your Nittany Lions! You're looking tough although I'm not sure how much we can take away from a ND game in Happy Valley (the Irish have 0 offensive TDs so far! ). That was an amazing ending to the Broncos game! I saw them get that first down just past the 50yd line at the Air Force Academy Auto Hobby Shop w/ Ted (Praedet. We did my front/rear sways and tranny fluid change). But missed the ending as I was pulling my car into the bay and lifting it up!
RaGe
ohio will take a loss before its over with. michigan is done for the season. wisconsin is the only hope for big 10. OTM. scottybuckeye
Yeah, we'll definitely take a loss, possibly away this weekend at Washington. They're looking purty good. Unless we really pick it up, I don't see us beating Penn State. M*ch*g*n game's away and while everyone would say we'd beat them now both teams will be very different by then. Also, historically a BIG underdog of "The Game" often leaves the victor. I'm hoping Wisconsin represents like they did against Arkansas and Auburn the past couple years in the Capital One Bowl. This year they shouldn't get bumped outta the BCS bowls. Who's your team Rage?
RaGe
a michigan fan. LOL. Yeah i know. let me hear it. I dont understand what is going on with them. THis was supposed to be THE year. but Carr is getting death threats and is being escorted to and from everywhere. I can go on and on about this but i am just going to shut up about it. The crap has me so pissed off right now that its not even funny.. And then hart said he promises a win against ND? A little phucking late now isnt it?? The season is over your frekin retard. i dont know. ANd Wisconsin is just Okay. There not all of that. Really i dont see any big ten in the national. And like i said i see ohio taking 1 if not 2 loses. THere not going to go anywhere if they dont step it up either. I have been trying ot watch some other games but i have been so crazy with work, I am really wanting to catch the USC vs cal. i love that game. so what do you think? OTM. I think Cal is overrated this year especially after the scare for them last week with CSU. I haven't really seen any team that has stood out as a contender yet... should be a good weekend of college football. I have no sympathy for michigan, this is their first decline year in FOREVER! Penn state had 3 years of crap seasons, recently and just last year started getting it turned around. Michigan will be back, but for this year, they are done... scottybuckeye
Tommy, are you kidding me? M*ch*g*n has off years just like everyone else (but maybe not as often). Just two years ago? 7-5! Notre Dame even beat them that year (although ND has 0 wins in big/significant games w/ Weis). And any year either M*ch or OSU loses both "The Game" and a bowl game, that is an off year (hasn't happened to us yet under Tressel). I still think Cal is a great team (AP and Coaches must think so too; they moved up 2 spots in both polls, leapfrogging Louisville who also had a mediocre game). Sometimes you play to your competition's level as we most certainly did last week. And no one has stood out as a contender? Did you see the score of the Va Tech game!? Oklahoma and W. Virginia have been hot as well. USC and Fl*rd* have yet to be tested. Yeah M*ch*g*n will be back, but it'll be a couple years. Sucks for you guys, Rage (and us in particular beyond just the Big Ten)! Did you hear the last time you guys lost by as much as this past weekend? Yup, we beat you guys in '68, 50-13. Had to throw that in therr. I'd say the same for Wisconsin as I would Cal. It's to be seen. Everyone that has a great season (usually) has bad games (our undefeated season in '02). About Hart's commments, I like Weis' comeback, "If I'd watched ND play the last two games (did he miss them??), I might have made the same prediction." Hart's a complete arrogant a$$hole. Minus the felonies, I'd put him in the same category as Maurice Claurett. Some guys are just pricks! When we won "The Game" last year, Hart ran his mouth saying they should've won and they'd def win next year. He does back it up though. And I think you'll have a bad season this year, but I wouldn't go as far as saying the season is already over. And I would nearly bet my job on the Mich-ND game. If you guys don't win that game, THEN I would def say the season is over (unless you beat my buckeyes!). At least you guys have an offense. ND has nothing! tommypenguin
7-5 come on, that is hardly a let down. It was hard but penn state had 4 sub .500 season(00, 01, 03,04). When you are losing more than you win, that is what I would consider a big let down. Everyone was begging for Joe Pa's head just a couple years ago, once again he is receiving praise. A 7-5 record for a Big Ten Powerhouse is most certainly a failure of a season. Most seasons the programs will warm up w/ 2-3 sub par teams although I look up M*ch*g*n's results that year and this doesn't apply. Only "crappy" team they played was Eastern M*ch*g*n and maybe N. Illinois (not great season). They also lost to us and their bowl game against Nebraska. I'd call that a failing season, at least by M*ch*g*n standards. Again, if Ohio State lost against M*ch*g*n AND their bowl game, I would almost definitely call it a bad season. On the same line, in 2004 we went 8-4. However, if we lost to M*ch*g*n and went 7-5, there's no doubt our fans would consider that a failure of a season. In 2001 we went 7-5 in Tressel's first year, but beat M*ch*g*n, so we wouldn't call that a failure (though 6 points away from one). Big games hold huge weigh, especially our rivalry which is usually more important to us than the bowl game. http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o19/oftoast/T1728827_1.jpg

Must be nice... winning a some recent national championships. I'm so much more grateful now for any wins penn state gets after having some 4-7 and 3-8 seasons. 7-5 is pretty respectable even for an 'off' year. I don't even know who penn state plays this weekend, i should look. Does OSU have a big game?
scottybuckeye
We have a very important game this weekend AT Washington who knocked off #22 Boise State 24-10 (hope some of you will join me from time to time at one of the cripple creek casinos, game time: 1:30p MT). I think they should be ranked as should S. Florida (winning AT Auburn in OT). Husky stadium is thought by many to be the loudest stadium in the country (and louder than any Big Ten stadium). I'm surprise to hear that cause I know Happy Valley is high on the list too. Your N. Lions play Buffalo, home at 10a MT. (#22 Tenn @ #5 Fl*r*d*) and (#301 Notre Dame @ #300 M*ch*g*n) both on at 1:30p.

Holy Crap! I suppose I won't be wearing a Texas jersey anytime soon when I go to Oklahoma, that is unbelivable! Man... Wow that's crazy! I haven't heard of that happening within our rivalry (which is considered by ESPN to be the biggest in all of sports). In Columbus you will have M*ch*g*n plated cars turned over and windows broken though that's been mostly stopped in recent years. I went to a Red Sox game in the Bronx last year and enjoyed the passionate bantering back and forth, walking down the subway tunnels. I saw the police arresting one or two BoSox fans, haha! Hope you guys win Saturday, Rage. Beat Notre-Shame!

Talk about sticking it to the man, what a bunch of underdogs. I hope the Rockies wipe the floor with Philly. CU's game was also rediculous I couldn't believe that, people in OK were probably pretty upset. Along with us fans from happy valley. The illini took it to us because of morelli's mistakes again. The colts whooped up on denver, 38-20 is a beating and they went easy on us in the 4th, we couldn't stop the run, our front four sucks, cutler has a lot to learn about smart decision making.
