There were no mods to it, it was stock, its the redesigned 2008, i can't believe I didn't take a pic of the hood, so hot. The guy driving it works for dodge in Detroit. His current assignment was to drive the prototype viper for 5000 miles up in high altitude, he said colorado has the highest highway in the continuous U.S. He was datalogging and posting it to Detroit via satellite and they were tuning his car on the fly. Nevertheless he said the viper was struggling hard at altitude and it had just rained and hailed up there. I could have taken him on those twisties if there was room to pass him:lol:, but either way I had to give him props for having my dream job.

I took my legacy up to almost 14xxx feet at Mount Evans while we were up there, we ran into some interesting sights. One including the 2008 dodge viper srt10 that won't be out for another 3 months, enjoy...

I was intimidated, I called to double check with my insurance to see if it covers mountain goat collision but I told them it was gto collision they said 'no problem', little do they no i'm not talking about the pontiac:lol:

It's pretty damn cool up there. Our family went camping last weekend and headed up to the summit of Mt. Evans. Mtn goats everywhere. I had decided to take my wife's '04 Accord EX since my rig is a little low with the S-techs and 40 series tires... damn glad we didn't take my car because of the road damage around Summit Lake. I would have had to crawl over some of those bumps and cracks to make sure I didn't bottom out on my exhaust. And no, despite the 240HP V6, the Accord was not near as much fun to drive (but it's a lot more comfortable, is a higher quality build, and a much nicer interior).

Its really pretty up there for sure, a lowered ride shouldn't be going up there, all the dips by the lake are brutal, I was going over them on stock suspension at just a couple mph.

As for the accord, IMO if you are comparing stock cars, legacy vs accord. I think the accord is the better car out of the box even though the accord doesn't have the awd and lsd. My brother has an 04 6speed accord accord, off the line it spanked me stock, with his low end grunt of the v6. Top end power, the legacy is more fun. Handling goes to the legacy but not by much stock, the accord handles very comparable on it michelin pilots vs our crappy bridgestones. Obviously a stage 2 legacy compared to any accord really isn't fair. I bought the legacy not because it was faster out of the box than the accord, but because it had the potential to be much faster than that for no more than a couple grand. If I would have bought the legacy to stay stock, I never would have purchased it....

If you take i-70 to idaho springs, there is an exit in town to go to mount evans, its east of the town, it about an hour drive to the top from there. Signs all over the place, can't really miss it, it cost like 5 or 10 bucks to drive on the road, but its worth it.

^ as long as your not stuck behind slow cars

race to the TOP FTW!

lol, those roads are a bit too tight for a race. My passengers were pretty squirmish looking off to the cliff side and noticing a few thousand foot drop off on the side of the road. I never really thought about getting on it, the car performed pretty terrible up there but I would expect nothing less seeing how there is no oxygen.

Thanks, Tommy.

Looks like I'll have to head up there next season. Their website says the season closed 2 days ago. :p

I finally got back to mount evans this weekend after detailing my Accord. It was my second detail in my life since I got a porter cable and a variety of pads and products to use on the car. I'm very pleased with how the car came out. The process I went through is as follows...

Exterior:

-Started by cleaning both sets of my wheels with Meguiars All Wheel Cleaner, then scrubbed with microfiber brush, cleaned between spokes with microfiber spoke brush, then cleaned lug nut holes with lug nut brush

-Rinsed wheels, dried them with microfiber then applied two layers of poorboy's wheel sealant and applied Stoner's tire shine dressing

-Next I washed the car using Meguiar's gold class soap and two bucket method with grit guards

-Clayed every inch of the car using Mother's clay and showtime instant detailer

-Washed car again to remove dried detailer residue

-Applied Stoner's Trim shine to gas tank vinyl and vinyl near fog lights

-Taped car off

-Polished the trunk top, rear bumper corners and the section of the hood that is not clear braed with my PC 7424XP using Meguiars 205 polish and an orange 5.5" pad

-IPAed the areas I polished

-Klasse AIO using 6.5" White pad

-Klasse Sealant using 6.5" Gray pad

-Hosed down exhaust with IPA and water mix

-Scrubbed exhaust with 0000 steel wool

-Polished exhaust with P21s Polishing Soap

-Polished exhaust with Never Dull

Interior:

-Vacuumed whole interior and trunk

-Cleaned leather inside of car using Lexol Leather Cleaner

-Conidtioned leather with Lexol Conditioner

-Applied Lexol Vinylex to dash and all plastics in the car

-Cleaned windows with Stoner's Invisible Glass and Glass tool for crevices

After putting in all this work I had to snap a few pics of the car the ones below are from mount evans...
