Why is the legacy suspension biased towards the rear?

Because it's not the static spring rate that matters, it the spring rate at the wheel. The WRX has struts front and rear, so the spring rate at the wheel is basically the same as the static spring rate. On the LGT, we have a multilink rear suspension which essentially acts as a lever against the spring, effectively lowering the spring rate at the wheel. So even though the LGT runs springs that are stiffer on the rear when they are off the car, once the are on the car they act softer than the fronts.

Why are the spring rates biased higher in the rear for the legacy compared to the WRXs suspension which has a higher front spring rate bias?

Just curious.

The rear suspension is completely different on the Legacies, with a lower mechanical advantage (oversimplification) that requires a higher spring rate to effectively control the wheel. For more detailed information look up "motion ratio."

Oh, the above two answers may sound correct, but I know the real answer.

Legacy is big enough to carry two bodies in the trunk/wagon area.

Wagons FTW!

Tony Soprano should ditch the Escalade and get a wagon.....

Oooh, CTS-V wagon, that would be HAWT!
