ShockerGT
Spool 'whiiring' and BOV 'Psshhhhhh' do not the growl of a boxer make. I thought I got plently of sexy 'Boxer growl' just doing a snorkusectomy on my leggy.. I've heard in on my Impreza too despite the Snorkus.. the beast is there.. it wants free.. it's held back by the mega maze of the evil captor SNORKUS!!! MUWHAHAHAHHA lol.. I'm goofy today. Turbos have always been known to muffle sounds and make the exhaust tone deeper. I owned an 05 Legacy 2.5i and now an 05 LGT and I can tell you for sure that the n/a will never have that deep rumble, the n/a will be higher pitched and more raspy. I have yet to hear an n/a Legacy or Impreza with the exhaust note of a turbo boxer. Case in point: n/a 2.5RS w/ exhaust http://videos.streetfire.net/search/2.5RS/1/dd53ff75-f102-4443-9ce4-b95c63524f1c.htm STi w/ exhaust [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zynv8SQKBVU]YouTube - 06 STI. 3" catback exhaust with Magnaflow muffler[/ame]
Drakuun
Turbos have always been known to muffle sounds and make the exhaust tone deeper. That N/A exhibited the Boxer growl perfectly IMHO, both get my blood rushing! But... to continue my silliness... Since, as you say, the turbo only accentuates the true natural tone of the Boxer engine, my point remains, no turbos need apply to make a boxer growl. heh heh heh heh.
