I've been talking base price, if these guys are talking otd the dealer wasnt to screw me harder than I thought jmn69, I just fired up good old windows calculator and if I offered you the edmunds.com used value on you car it's about the same as buying locally new after I factor in 2 states worth of sales tax, the cost of the plane ticket+gas, financing my back offered me(6.5%) vs the current dealer incentive(3.9%) and the fact that you don't pay taxes on the trade portion of the price when you buy from a dealer . You would pay those when you registered the car in your home state. I bought in Oregon but didn't pay anything (yes I know there's no sales tax but I didn't pay anything besides the agreed upon price of the car) until I registered it in WA. Closet subaru dealership from me is 110 miles away, 2nd closet is 350 miles away. So honestly...the dealer i got my WRX and LGT from charged me more than what others have payed...but Subarus are way more common when people get them for lower prices. I paid 28.5 for my 06 with 64 miles on it. On the other side, i hear people getting LGT for 26k or cheaper, or a STI for 31, 32K. Lol, my dealer will have a STI for 35k AND NOT go down on the price. Email as many dealers as you are willing to drive to. One of them should be happy to basically make the small kickback they get from the factory for basically no work at all.But they may cut back on the trade-in. LegGTLT, right now I would prefer to give my business to someone else if possible; otherwise I’m either giving my money to the guy who’s treating me like a tire kicker(and demands that I drive 40 miles just to get a quote) or the guy who’s acting like $28.3K is doing me a favor. I’ll probably be working Saturdays until into March though (Sony pushed up the release of our games 2 months (I work on the SOCOM series)). edit: Mr. treating me like a tire kicker just gave me the brush off after he asked to come down for a quote yesterday morning. The date for our european release of Fire Team Bravo2(PSP) and Combined Assault(PS2) got pushed from May to March <img>. I can reveal when our PS3 games are coming out, so go buy CA and get your online co-op fix!
