Legacy05GT
I ordered the STi Front Lip Spoiler from KingofImports.com. Hopefully these instructions will give you some idea of what needs to be done if you install on your own. It took me a total of 2 1/2 hours(including pictures and cleanup) First off, this is what I received in the mail from Japan. 1. The STi front lip spoiler 2. Various nuts, bolts and screws 3. Instructions in Japanese (will post later if any1 wants to see them)
Legacy05GT
After examining my USDM bumper with the spoiler, I saw that they didn’t match up exactly. So, I figured the best way to go about modifying the lip would be with the bumper off. I figured it would be easier to work with, and I don’t own a decent jack to do work from underneath. You could find more detail about taking apart the bumper in some other threads on this forum so I won’t go into detail. For now, here are a couple key pictures along with a picture of the location of the 2 hidden push-plugs located on the inner wall of the wheel wells.
Legacy05GT
Now, I flipped the bumper over and tried to see what lined up with the lip spoiler. Only 4 bolts lined up without a problem (circled in red). I figured I would use these 4 along with the 2 on each end and 4 screws that get screwed into the bumper raw. For the end hole(circled in red) which need to fit a push-plug. I used a dremel tool to widen them out. Also, the lip ended up covering a push plug that is used for the bumper, so I also had to cut out a small section on each side.
Legacy05GT
After that, I began bolting on the lip. The only fasteners that I would be able to fasten while the bumper was off is the 4 bolts that match up and the 4 screws that go in raw. Notice the location of the holes on the lip in relation to the holes on the bumper. They are most off by about 2 inches. Also, the center hole on the USDM bumper is actually OFF-center by about 2 inches, so it didn’t match up with the lip. The two end push-plugs were put in after the bumper was back on the car. So, after it was all put back together here’s the end result. B4GT
BTW, you're saying that it wasn't a perfect fit for the USDM bumper, did you buy the one for the JDM 2.0GT? That seems to have the exact same bumper as the US version, but it looks like the screw holes are not quite the same?

apexjapan
It's actually made from quite sturdy, but still flexible, plastic. I'll have to go take a shot of what mine looks like after an inadvertent offroad adventure that had some rocks attempting to remove it. :( Scraped up a bit and pulled out of a mount hole on one part, but still held up in one piece, where fibreglass would have ripped and chunked. Aerodynamically it's supposed to help a bit, but I can't really do a back to back since my car came with it from the dealer. :D Cheers, Paul Hansen www.avoturboworld.com www.apexjapan.com
Legacy05GT
I got my Front lip for a discount since i was the first one and we weren't sure if it would fit. Also, i agreed to put up these wonderful pictures for an installation. Check with kevin @ Kingofimports.com. However, if you need a number, you'll be looking @ about $500. Shipping will cost between $50-$100. It is for this reason that you may want to buy a few items @ once, so the shipping cost will be less. As far as the performance with the new Lip. I can't say that i notice a dramatic difference. For me, it was mostly an aesthetic modification. I think it gives the front end an overall "thinker" look. It will decrease your ground clearance, by about 2 to 2 1/2 inches but its nothing too significant. I can still take on speed bumps and crappy parking lot entrances without a problem. I'll get some better pics up as soon as the weather shapes up. I got a couple pics of my leggy @ a subaru meet at XX-tuning in Connecticut. I remain to be the only legacy there among STi's , but i am still welcomed with open arms. Derrick EDIT: Full Pic:
