coldeagle
Ok folks. The wait is over! I've installed the XO2 Racing exhaust with the Cobb DP on my 07 Legacy Spec.B. I had the two professionally installed by Garage Tuning in Orange. They did a fabulous job for 90 bux, and the people are cool as hell. I would highly recommend them. Anyways, two words for the exhaust: Totally Bitchin'! The exhaust is great. Its welds are great, and the bends are smooth. It's solidly constructed, and everything fit perfectly. The exhaust sounds awesome! It has a nice deep prrr. It's quiet when you're taking it easy on the exhaust, and lights up when you get up on it. Nice popping when you decelerate. There is a little more cabin noise, but it's not obnoxious. With the radio up, you don't even notice it. Cruising is very smooth, and again not very loud. Absolutely outstanding, I'm very happy, especially at the cost of 1000 bux for the exhaust and DP combo. Performance wise, there's definite difference. The throttle is much more responsive, and the trade mark hesitation at 4-5k is almost completely gone. You feel it kick, but there's not hesitation, just a nice kick in the pants! I can't wait for Cobb to release their AP for the 07 Legacy. I believe it will make this bitch SCREAM :-D Anyways, I'll be posting a video of the exhaust soon. I need to get a camera man, anyone in OC interested? Final word, this is a great combination for nice price. I give it two thumbs up. http://coldeagle82.googlepages.com/dp_1.jpg http://coldeagle82.googlepages.com/dp_to_mid_1.jpg http://coldeagle82.googlepages.com/x02_mid_pipe_1.jpg http://coldeagle82.googlepages.com/x02_rear_1.jpg http://coldeagle82.googlepages.com/x02_rear_and_mid_1.jpg http://coldeagle82.googlepages.com/x02_y_pipe_1.jpg http://coldeagle82.googlepages.com/cobb_dp_1.jpg

scoobydoo67
Just received my "Ebay exhaust system from the East" Friday evening. Looks really nice!! Clean welds and piping. Reasonably light, as well. I am very curious to hear how it sounds on my GT with a stock cat. Should have it installed Monday when my buddy lets me use his shop lift after hours. Pics to follow and possibly sound clips. Hey, for $430 clams all said and done, how can you argue?

scoobydoo67
Well, I was supposed to install the exhaust this afternoon with my stock cat setup, but performance and reading too many posts on this site got the better of me!! I ordered the COBB catted downpipe from PL-Tek!! I just couldn't see going through all this and retaining the stock cats with their funky and restrictive piping. So, I spoke with Pete and I'll have my DP tomorrow and should have the whole setup installed either Wednesday or Thursday. Pics and review to follow. Hey, my wallets even lighter now!! Good Lord!! coldeagle
For a 1000 bux you can't go wrong. I mean many exhausts cost that much! I think when all is said and done, this is a great combination I'm very happy with it.
mickeyd2005
Can someone do the wagon owners a big favor and measure the distance from the end of the tip to the face of the muffler? Thanks!

Silverstar
Thanks for the clips, it's tough to tell how loud it actually is. Anyone heard this and others in person? I'm curious as to where this ranks on the loud scale? Quiet like borla. Loud like perrin. I'm hoping for something in between...
scoobydoo67
I finally got my system installed!! I got the catted COBB downpipe with the "Ebay Special" exhaust. I installed it at my friends shop. No real fitment issues, but as others have mentioned on other posts, the left side muffler was a bit askew in the bumper cutout. It was not quite centered, favoring the right side of the opening. The right side muffler was perfect. So, ever the anal rententive perfectionist, I tried to adjust the hanger to get it more centered. It looks pretty good now, but I need to spend a bit more time on it. The sound is great!! Not loud in the cabin and rather passive at idle with a nice rumble. Sounds great at higher RPM's. Not tinny or 2-stroke brappy. Has the thumpy note a boxer engine should. I will try to get some pictures up as soon as I can. So, for just over $1000 in parts, I think this is a great way to go.
yamie700
Are these CBE 2.5" or full 3"? It doesn't say on ebay. Someone needs to try one on a wagon to see if there is drone or not. I don't want to be the first:icon_wink
