MrTris
Moar how-tos! Wanna black out the corners but keep the reflectivity? Nightshades, bitches! Get that dark, black-chrome look, but retain the mirror (and light reflecting!) finish! It's pretty easy to do -- Just mask shit off and do light LIGHT COATS! Nightshades does a great job of covering and spreading itself out if you just let it.

Tandingo
hey all, would one suggest using plasti-dip to black out a cleared headlight? could it handle the heat of the projector light? EDIT: nvm, went back a few pages and found my answer! Edited May 29, 2015 by Tandingo Found Answer
GTLegacy05
Reviving an old thread, but gave this a try and thought I'd share. I went with blacking the housing out, amber reflector delete, painting projector ring blue and adding switchback led inside the housing. http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j343/Abalog87/Mobile%20Uploads/20150814_134113_zpsxiauzinc.jpg http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j343/Abalog87/Mobile%20Uploads/20150814_141119_zpspnvwmqsp.jpg http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j343/Abalog87/Mobile%20Uploads/20150814_143303_zps62pugljc.jpg http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j343/Abalog87/Mobile%20Uploads/20150815_191837_zpszw1bnmpa.jpg Heating and bending hollow acrylic tube to hold the led strip. http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j343/Abalog87/Mobile%20Uploads/20150824_185415_zpsm6izs68q.jpg http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j343/Abalog87/Mobile%20Uploads/20150824_190838_zps2bp58yoo.jpg Fitting it to the inside frame and testing the led strip. http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j343/Abalog87/Mobile%20Uploads/20150824_222106_zps29lqonkq.jpg http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j343/Abalog87/Mobile%20Uploads/20150824_221946_zpsgmumugj6.jpg http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j343/Abalog87/Mobile%20Uploads/20150826_191042_zps70ncstim.jpg http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j343/Abalog87/Mobile%20Uploads/20150826_232603_zps4zydq30b.jpg http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j343/Abalog87/Mobile%20Uploads/20150826_232556_zpsepjrzgeu.jpg http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j343/Abalog87/Mobile%20Uploads/20150826_232838_zps4l9tyqid.jpg http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j343/Abalog87/Mobile%20Uploads/20150826_233021_zpsruqihpwy.jpg

subawooo
Looks sick painted, by the way there are switch back LEDs online for 24$, they shine white with the running lights, and blink Amber for your turn signals.

skrolz
I'm going to attempt this on some 2006 headlights. Should I be OK reusing the stock butyl/silicone to seal the headlights? Or should I be safe and order something from Amazon for a new seal (what would that be? waterproof silicone?)?
Fasemelta
I did mine last year and I didn't have to add anything. . .there should be enough on there to get a good seal. Just pop em back in the oven for a min or two before you seal them back up to get it soft again

jonnyt88
For those with an 08/09, how do you separate the yellow turn plastic from the clear plastic its attached to once you remove it from the housing? It appears to be glued in a few spots, and I already cracked a little bit of the clear.
