edkwon
Ok a separate issue worthy of its own thread i think, i know that while most of the aftermarket HID kits out there are pretty easy plug n play installs, my understanding that its ideal to disable the DRLs before installing HIDs as the lower voltage in DRLs will damage the HIDs over time. Now in the 05 and 06 LGTs disabling the DRLs seems to be a pretty simple thing, but subaru has redid the wiring in the 07s which result in a loss of high beams and fogs if the DRLs are disabled, discussed here: http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42292 Now the question is has anyone tackled HID installation in an 07 car and did they find a way around this problem or simply sacrifice high beam and foglamp function? VXCL
just power the ballasts off the batt with a relay and ground separate from oem low beam circuit. then you will have drl xenons. i will say it for the 50909890809th time that its the ground that has voltage varied on it to dim the headlamp circuit not the + pink wire. its always a constant 12+ check the first page of my xenon thread for diagram peace MAYHEM #122/22 STS NNJR SCCA AUTOX4U.COM XENON RETRO GUIDE
edkwon
Hmmm i guess that doesnt sound too bad, its still too bad tho you cant simply plug into stock wiring harness only and go. Ed
laz
I thought there was another thread around here about disabling DRL's on 07's? I thought hte solution was just to cut the brown wire on the harness? Look it up. X ---
LGT Dave
This post in that thread tells you how to disable the DRL's: http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showpost.php?p=745744&postcount=14. Just requires some wire cutting rather than being able to disconnect a plug.
