Could you be (gasp) moving to the states at some point? disclaimer (I have no idea what the dress code should be since I live in NYC and only vacation in miami) Vessel Manager, I doubt I'll get it as I don't have the right accent Double Award Winning Legacy GT Wagon
PhilT
You would have to be on the ship if you got the gig? What accent should you have? Visit the ships when they are in port, but mostly from the office. I should have a posh British accent, or old money American. Gire
Phil, best of luck, but you know if you move to teh US, your cool factor goes down 8 points.
iceman
I have an interview at RCCL in Miami next week, what do you all recommend for dress code ? Is it formal suit for the office or smart casual ? I'm in the Hospitality Business here in Florida, and from my experience in both corporate hotels and in private clubs, you don't walk in the door in less than a suit. You'll likely meet both a Recruiting Manager and a VP of Human Resources, and they'll probably be in suits. Not sure about attire in the office once you get started, but you can't go wrong in a good suit. And as far as the accent goes, if you want to talk to the staff on the ships, you should learn Spanish (for the Phillipinos) or Bahasa (for the Indonesians). For the managers, Dutch is always good! Goin' to Carolina in my mind...and in my car on the 16th!
