edkwon
Saw a friend's LGT with a perrin downpipe installed and was told of a problem with the rear 02 sensor. Ok in the stock downpipe the rear 02 sensor bung is located on top so it points upwards when installed. probably to avoid underbody damage to the 02 sensor while driving, but stick a larger aftermarket downpipe under the car and if the bung matches the stock location then suddenly there is much less room to fit that 02 sensor. Any downpipes that placed their bung off to the side to avoid this problem? Or if not have other ppl been using alternate solutions to this problem? TSiWRX
My understanding is that you'll want the bung - and subsequent sensor placement - to be at least at the 2-o'clock position, if not even more towards a 1-o'clock bias, in order to prevent accumulated moisture from corrupting the probe.... <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family
Boostjunkie
That is correct. You want the sensor as upright as possible. I have the Perrin DP and while the sensor is a little close to the driveshaft, it's fine and has not given me any problems.
