Legacy05GT
A new set of axle backs for the 2005 Legacy GT Sedan or Wagon Blitz Nur-Spec touring Axle-Back Exhaust BL/BP $849.00 http://www.fastwrx.com/blnutoaxexbl.html
kanoswrx
Wow those are some big exhaust tips. Is that all you get for 850 bucks though? Would have hoped blitz could throw in the rest of the catback. I guess this is what you would call an axel back. Still pretty nice, glad to see this stuff starting to make its way out here. Xenonk
4.5" tips each isnt big enough??! That's like $100/ 1" worth of tip! haha.. I think I'll go with Kansai's instead if it's just axel-back.. Keefe Keefe
Whitestar Pilot
$400 mufflers, with Folger's tips? Sheesh.
apexjapan
Pluses - they've designed it so that they sit up further in the car, in the space Subaru designed for the mufflers. Minuses - you'd need a twin turbo V12 to justify those tips. :o And despite those tips, they designed them purely for bolting up to the stock center pipe, so most of the breathing advantage is nullified by the join. Well, that's a plus and a minus, depending on what you do with the center pipe. And then there is the price... maxmiata
For that price, it should be a catback. I'll pass on the ricey tips also.
racerdave
That price is stupid... for two mufflers???????
Th3Franz
Bling bling but daaang... agreed should be a catback for that price. -Franz The end of a Legacy http://www.youtube.com/th3franz
rodan
Fugly... I prefer the STI look with four small tips. And is it just me, or are exhaust parts for these (imports generally) cars ridiculously overpriced? I come from Mustangs (and I know, Mustangs are cheap), where you can get front to back dual exhaust, ceramic coated, including headers for around $1k. Tell me how a single 3" pipe with one muffler (most turbo backs) should cost nearly as much. Or two mufflers with folgers tips? I remember the days when a muffler shop would fab you up an exhuast with a good muffler for under $200... TLS
rodan, I concur! Even with fullsize trucks, full systems are usually $500-700. The day I pay $850 for two mufflers with 1" inlets and 4" Folgers, I would hope cars like ours cost $75K new. I like the plain tips. But look inside and they're fake with maybe a 2" outlet. I said it before, a single turbo car should have single exhaust. I'm thinking a nice free flowing 2 1/2" system all the way back, with maybe a nice single 3" tip. godwhomismike
I'm picturing a squirrel crawling up in there to make a nest while the car sits a few days, and I go and turn it on. (nice exhuast rumble man) :o - Mike
TLS
Speaking of squirrel's..... On my GF's S40, while sitting in my driveway overnight. Next day She's driving home from work and smells something burning. She thought it was someone burning leaves, but the smell lasted the whole way home. Go to pop the hood that evening, I see smoke coming from the turbo area. Here, a squirrel sat on the heat shield (looks like EZ-Foil bake pan bolted to firewall) and proceeded to leave his black walnut on the turbo. I flicked it out with a screwdriver, it was glowing red and looked like a charcoal briquet! The smell remained for quiet a while as the sap (think green soft black walnut) melted all over the turbo. BoxerGT2.5
For that price, it should be a catback. I'll pass on the ricey tips also.
This was posted over at NASIOC. Mastro is selling it. I told him the price was high considering I got a catback for my Rx-8 for $595 (Borla). You could also get the greddy and B&B at about the same price. And the muffler on the 8 is HUGE. He responded by saying
The price is about double what you'd pay for a Blitz axle-back for a WRX, which makes some sense since it's basically two of 'em... There WILL eventually be a Nur Spec (not Touring) model exhaust, which will be less expensive. Early reports, though, say that the non-Touring model is astoundingly loud...which may not sit well with Legacy owners, who (one might assume) are probably more conservative with regard to exhaust noise. --Dan Mach V FastWRX.com
So if the two cans where connected to a y-pipe the price would be lower??? Technically, it would then be one unit. Either way that's alot of coin for two fart cans that are strictly dress up. I can get a VF22 or 30 for that much...lol OBAMA......One Big Ass Mistake America! kevinkingofimports.com
2 fart cans = twice as many = lower cost of production No sense why the price should be double. Then again, when STI charges $1200 for its more conservative cans, the fart cans start to look attractive, even if only for a second. How I wish I had a Legacy to invest the kind of money I invested in my STi. Anyway, I wish there was a way to supply some of these parts at more reasonable prices. Mach V Dan
Hey Mach V Dan is Blitz releasing a Realize TT for the Legacy?
No plans as far as I know. There is a Nur Spec (non-Touring). It's supposed to be very LOUD, but it's a little less expensive than the Touring. --Dan Mach V FastWRX.com

Nick
Hmmm...overpriced fart can mufflers. Well, if there are people here who will buy blue radiator hoses just because they are blue, I'm sure these will sell. -Nick
Mach V Dan
Hey Mach V Dan is Blitz releasing a Realize TT for the Legacy?
Actually, now that I do the research, it does exist. No plans for official importation through Blitz USA, but we could order it. Figure the price to be similar or more than these, though. (What can I say? The dollar falls, and everything Japanese, which used to be ridiculously expensive, becomes INSANELY expensive...) --Dan Mach V FastWRX.com
