Does the inlet hose just replace the stock one, or does it replace the whole airbox/MAF housing?

Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!

If turbometrics doesn't replace the dp and GT-L decides not to purchase it over the next two weeks, I'll buy it. I live less than 10 minutes from DBTuning.

its the inlet hose that goes from the charge pipe (pipe just after the MAF) to the turbo. the stock one is that dinky black one.

What are you getting done to make you put these up for sale? :wub:

supa secret... :icon_cool

How much for inlet tube? Will I need a Protune for it, or will I be ok till I get my up/dp installed and Protune stageII?

you'd be fine without a protune, or if anything, paul@dbtuned could make some minor adjustments to better take advantage of it. at stage 2 it would make a nice difference especially if you paired it with the charge pipe. you could go the cold air route... but... airbox is good to stage 3+ so unless you have to replace it dont bother. charge pipe is like $100 retail so less from a good vendor and replaces the corrogated peice of crap behind the MAF.

if you guys want ill post pics of the OEM STi turbo inlet i have so you can compare. its less restrictive than ours but still looks dinky compared to the perrin.

pre-stage 2 (ect ect ect) the gains from the inlet will be marginal at best, mostly in sound with increased flow into the turbo... which you wont notice much in terms of performance

I've been contemplating the STi TMIC/VF39 combo for the Forester, but I just can't justify it yet... Good luck with the sale. :)

-Mike-

i think im going to use the intake many, ypipe, and brackets to use a STi style perrin TMIC since its got a corse size thats 2.2x larger than the one for the LGT and pair it with a sti style turbo (maybe an 18g)

I haven't seen any evidence that it didn't fit due to:

A. It being the incorrect downpipe (all my documentation says it's for an AT, and I believe the box was clearly labeled as such), or;

B. Installer error, or;

C. A mismatch with whatever exhaust you are fitting it to

You emailed my personal email account and not my business email, which explains the one day delay.

Being the installer, it's possible I made a mistake. I was sober at the time. ;)

He's bringing the car in 9/22 for a re-install.

I'll take pictures if it still doesn't fit.
