Garandman
unique design,AWD, Boxer engine, Subarus rep for safety, its involvement in rally racing, and is yes, different from the crowd. I don't see Legacy's like mine all the time. Though based on this board alone, there are a lot of them. OT, but you a Treadhead? fzanetti
I'm disappointed in Subaru for taking away the manual transmission, I may have to buy from someone else when the time comes if they don't figure it out. So are a lot of us man... I feel your disappointment.... Flavio Zanetti Boston, MA
jond_68
I basically have owned them since 1986. All have been quite reliable. I don't try to set high mileage records, but 125-175,000 miles with only minor repairs is what I try to achieve. I have done it with my Subarus. The problem is that I could probably drive them longer, but I need to have a new car. Like when I traded my 02 gt in for the spec.b I had 120,000 miles, everythig still working fine, but I needed the new car. AWD and more recently power. Those old 80s cars were slow. Also its not a stinking Camry/Accord that everybody else has. And I really like the dealer I got my last 3 legacies from. They have actually been there after the sale too. I know that is not really a reason to buy a Subaru, but I wanted to throw it in.
Six_wheeler
woman wouldnt let me get a mustang Thanks for all the feedback people. As a matter of fact, just last night, I took a great risk: I threw the idea of getting a Mustang up in the air - in the presence of my wife. I can't remember what happened next. Like I said before, I've always wanted a Subaru, even before I could drive. They just made sense to me. But now I'm having a real hard time fighting the wife's pressuring me - on a Hyundai Azera, of all things!!! I kinda like the Kia Amanti better Shady
andrew_j
My wife had the criteria of mid-size wagon with heated seats and 5 speed manual. She shocked me getting a LGT as she thought her previous anemic Civic LX was adequate in acceleration.

NYtoVT
my original reasons were: 1. I needed/ wanted a wagon and not a hatchback: 2. Audis are expensive 3. Audi ratings weren't as good. 4. Volvos are now Fords. 5. Saabs are now GM 6. hard to find a used Mazda P5 w/ what I wanted. 7. loved the new body of the '05 (sedan and wagon) 8. hadn't seen any or many on the road 9. got a decent deal (IMO) and good service on an '05 in Feb. '06 10. after driving the turbo... that was it!! (owned no turbo since 2000) Now there's so many more reasons I'm glad I have it!!

driggity
The combination of utility, performance and price. I don't know what other new cars are out there for the price of the LGT Wagon that you can put a twin size bed or a 50" TV in the back of and still be this much fun to drive.
