07 JDM Legacy review - mine

This was actually scheduled to appear in scoobymag in the UK, but they are currently undergoing a major revamp and are out of action for the next month or two. At which time it'll become just a minor news note, if published at at all. So I've put it up on my site, http://www.sevenphotos.com (yes, I do something besides avo pimpage....).

Oh, and for the people that visited it in the past - yes, I've dumped everything from last year and before on it, and moved over to more proper system. Still working out the bugs - yes, the pop-up window for images is still too small, and I'm not sure what tiny bit of 1000's of lines of code is conflicting with another tiny bit of 1000's of lines of tiny code...

Cheers,

Excellent article Paul! I enjoyed reading it. Hopefully Scooby Mag UK will incorporate your article in a future issue.

I had a quick question, regarding the fuel economy.

"Subaru claims a combined testing average of 14.8km/l for the turbo models, which is frankly fantastic for a 276hp car. That translates into about 37mpg in an ideal situation, it's more likely to expect about 32-34mpg when keeping at reasonable speeds on the expressway."

What are the average speeds to get these numbers? I would guess it's probably unlike U.S. highway speeds, or else I'm sure this engine would be quite popular over here.

Edit: Also I have another question. I'm checking out your Sevenphotos forum. Nice place :). Going through your photos, I have to ask. Do you retouch all of your photos you post up? What do you use and/or usually do? No need to write a lot. Just a brief answer is fine. Thanks!

Their average speed numbers for testing are something like 60km/h, I believe. But I do have to say that I get somewhere around 12-13km/l (even with the modifications I have) on the expressway at a steady 110km/h. Simply enough, off boost it's a small, rather efficient 2.0-liter, and the new Legacy has good enough aerodynamics to allow it to keep speed without getting into boost. The USDM Legacy has a 2.5-liter, and that larger engine size eats into efficiency in light-load constant throttle conditions.

Cheers,
