i like the boxer growl and all, it does sound lice.. its just too much for me. do you think that my limiting the space the air can flow inside a gutted muffler will make it any different? check the otehr thread and you'll know waht i mean..

Muffler design is very tricky. You get into wave modulation and cancellation issues. Just hacking up a stock muffler could hurt performance... and it will be quite difficult, IMHO, to get the sound you want.

That being said... I wish you the best of luck. Maybe you'll get lucky! :)

OK, I got a chance to run with one muffler off today......

Damn, our car sounds mean! I had a couple of domestic guys turn OFF their radios (it's warm here in NE-Ohio lately, so people have been doing the windows open, loud music, thing) to hear what's up with my car. :lol:

^ It's all-right, bro. :redface: I'm just embarrassed, that's all. :) Hurt my pride more than anything else ( well, the expensive Blitz canisters, too, of course :lol: ).

Maybe I'll get smaller-profile ones, this time around? ;)

keep in mind though. this exhaust set up is no louder than any after market CBE.

But yes it might give you a taste of it.

OTM.

Sorry I didn't mean to start a war which mainly forum people is all about ;).

I've got a set of straight pipe muffler deletes sitting in the shed I bought last year, but never put on. If anybody wants them; I'll let them go for $75 shipped. They are just pipes bent to fit with polished tips. I bought them from someone here. I think HogMeat actually owned them at one time.
Let's kick this pig!

[ame=http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=3371442942322151040]05 Legacy GT Muffler delete[/ame]

Only video I have.......

Only one delete pipe was completed/installed at this point.... but it gives you an idea.

With the second pipe added, it is a bit more mellow... and it doesn't backfire like that. It was cold, hence the backfiring.
