Pics of my '06 WRX TR after Wash, Clay Bar & Wax...

Recommended Posts

I've had my car for exactly three weeks to the day and decided to spend 3 hours in the cold today giving my her some TLC... (temps were 42 when I started and had dropped to 36 when I left)

My Steel Gray WRX TR is still stock and the only change I've made was to swap tail lights with an '05 STI owner.

First couple pics were taken at the car wash, and the last few along a country road on my drive back home.

Now my wife is hassling me to clay bar her car as well...

Nice looking car!! Any mods planned?

I have a Legacy GT shift knob that should have been shipped today and an STI axleback muffler that's in the mail. I want to compete in SCCA D-Stock for a full season this year so there's not much else I can do...

Sometime over the Summer & Fall I'll start gathering the parts necessary to go Cobb Stage 3 (VF39 version w/ STI TMIC). Christian @ Cobb just posted the initial dyno plot on i-club yesterday - saw ~270whp and 280+ ft-lbs at the wheels. Remember, this is just with a VF39, STI TMIC, down-pipe and Cobb AP (no fuel pump or fuel injector upgrades are needed)

Good call on the tail light swap. Any visible external ways to tell the TR apart from standrad WRX?

Thanks. Biggest give away are the black side mirors - they're body colored on the regular WRXs.

Did you need clay bar after three weeks, where do you drive on freshly paved roads all day? That color is pure sex by the way.

I wanted to do a thorough clay barring as the clear coat on most new cars tends to have a slight grainy feel to it. Using the clay bar helps to get rid of those imperfections and keep pollutants from fading the color prematurely. The paint has a much smoother feel and finish now!

Hot hot hot! Love it with the '05 tails. Do you plan on clearing the front headlights?

+3

Great swap, glad you found someone who actually liked the Subaru Altezza treatment! His loss is your gain.

(Somebody should tell this to Mazda asap. The tails on the MS6, MX5, RX8 are really "Welcome to 5 years ago")
