Wisdom of upgrading brake pads but keeping stock tires (for now)?

From what I've read installation of SS lines and Bobcat pads will definitely help in terms of pedal feel. With respect to stopping more quickly, however, will the pads make an appreciable difference if the tires themselves have not yet been upgraded?

They can help in emergency braking where you would otherwise get some high temperature fade, but generally yea, I would upgrade the tires at the same time or before the brakes since they will help in all other handling situations too & not just straight line deceleration.

You shouldnt be getting fade in an emergency stop situation.....

feel upgrade only until tires are upgraded.

For me the stock pads sucked and changing tires(Toyo Proxes 4) didn't lead to any braking improvements.

Only when I replaced my pads did I see shorter stopping distances and no warp/rotor deposits.

Edit: Now try to stop with better pads on the RE92s in wet weather and you'll trade paint/curb.

Do the tires and brake pads at the same time, cause changing only one will make the other worse/more visible.

Thank you for your comments. I was considering doing the lines and pads just for feel alone. They happen to be fairly inexpensive as well -- relative to tires at least. Fortunately brakes/tires are consumable so the longer I wait, the easier a decision it shall be!
