jah77clash
greetings , im looking at a 97gt with 139,000 miles on it 2 owners "excellent" condition. 1 pending recall what would be a good deal on this ride pricewise? anything i should look out for,and how much mileage could i get out of it? thanks
SLegacy99
My understanding is that these can run well into the 200's. I would DEFINATELY go for it. Check the water pump. If its leaking or was, replace it. Cant think of anything else. Which transmission?

jah77clash
hey, thanks for your time. manual transmission timing belt and clutch replaced at around 110k looks like the cooling system has been serviced a few times ,and engine serviced once at 107k the recall is on the alternator
SLegacy99
Yeah, go with it. Manual is good. And rare. And since with those two extensive services outta the way, you should be in good shape for awhile. Im at 79,000 on my original timing belt and I just did the clutch. Recall eh? I would think that shouldnt be a problem, but I dont know anything about it, so dont take my word on that.

Aczwild
That is a good price, I got really really lucky when I found my GT and got it for one hell of a steal at $6800 with 65000 miles on it (granted I had to replace the headgaskets 3 months later). For instructions on how to remove the switch, you can see my walkthough here... http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26408 JDM'd All to hell Thanks Jimmy @ Hkc-Speed.com! SLegacy99
Lets see I paid 9000 for my '99 Limited with 69,000 and it was valued at around 15000. Still trying to figure that one out. Though I did have to buy that clutch I sold my '96 GT with 72,000 for 7000.

SLegacy99
i'll probably ride this one till its dying day. then get a 99 gt next. some reason i prefer the older bodies.. Shop early, especially if you want a stick...which the 4EAT really discredits this car's power. And yeah, 95 - 99 was awesome.
MDW25gt
Here is a stupid question. How do you post a picture? Also how do you get one as your icon?? I would like to post some pics of my 99 Leg gt Thanks in advance. Mike
Aczwild
either you host it on something like photobucket, where all you will have to do is hit the "insert image" button above and then insert the location of the picture in the box that pops up, or you can add the pictures as an attachment under the advanced options. For your icon pic, in your user CP go to edit avatar and then scroll down and at the bottom you will see the requirements to adding a personal image JDM'd All to hell Thanks Jimmy @ Hkc-Speed.com! jah77clash
^^ photobucket is very easy. well, so far ive had an exaust leak around the resinator can. i just had a splice done for the short term. im thinking about getting a midpipe from a salvage yard. (or the whole exaust system) i also have a ball-joint or c-v noise going on. anyone have this repair done? cost? do they replace the axle when fixing the c-v joint? i'll figure it out soon enough. thanks
