RCAs - already have two long well-shielded pairs

I have no idea on speakers yet, but the main stage will be coaxials. The sub will most likely be an IDMAX or Brahma directly behind the rear seat firing rearward or in the passenger side rear trunk space. I have to see if I need an Optima battery later on.

I also have a question on how to get power to the fans and the CleanSweep. And also a generic question of where to route cabling.

I forgot what I was supposed to remember.

Not sure what you're asking here.

I don't think it matters where you route cables if there's good sheilding - others may not agree on this, but in my experience noise is rarely a result of cable location since the whole car is full of EMF's anyway. 9x of 10 it's a ground loop. I'd hit the fusepanel for CS & fan power, I'd also use a seperate power directly to the fans in case of feedback.

Otherwise I think you have twice the # of fans you'll need & are probably going over the top on the 1/0awg, but neither will hurt. How are you venting the fans? CS should be a tight fit under the seat, but I've never tried it. My first guess is that it wouldn't fit.

800w bass versus 45x4 mid is way unbalanced in my opinion, but may be the sound you like.

Maybe a 400w sub amp would suffice, but I have always heard you want a least twice the power to the subs as the front combined.

I just ordered all the fans and cabling supplies. Going to go ahead and run it all and just wait for the big parts to come in after I get my refund. No credit cards here. :)

I'd just like to know where people ran stuff, it will save me a bit of time and effort.

I don't buy into rules like that b/c everyone has different tastes. What I can tell you is that this will be a bass-heavy system. If that's the goal then you're on track.

I go for a more conservative approach in my systems, currently using about 90x4 and 400w to a 10" sub. And I usually have the sub dialed back a bit. Even tho you're blowing yours thru the rear deck & seat, 400w + 4x45 will still have a lot of punch down low. 800w would hurt me, 800w into a Brahma would hurt anyone.

think of it this way - the rears don't really count in terms of front stage power, right now you're basically 2x45 with rear fill. An 800w sub amp is about 10x the front power, or at least twice as loud. What size sub are you thnking?

The reason I am going with only 45x4 up front is that I have an Arc amp rated at 35x2 that I have never maxed out because it is so damn loud on my Boston 650s.

An e1400D would be a better match for the e4300 and would put less strain on our modest charging system. 400W is more than enough power to keep up with 180W on the front and rear speakers. I run an A6450 (equivalent to e6450) bridged to three channels (150Wx3) and I run the A1400 (equivalent to e1400D) to my sub. I have more than enough power on the bass.

My system diagram can be viewed here:

http://mobile.jlaudio.com/jlaudio_pages.php?page_id=191

Just make sure you get a 2 ohm sub (W6v2, cough, cough) to extract the 400W from the e1400D.

Good luck with it!

Ok. Just more brainstorming here. How about this with the 1400D? It would Velcro nicely against the back seat. I love Velcro. The question is, where in the world can I get one in DFW?

I also think you'd do well to generously cover the trunk in sound dampener like Dynamat or BQuiet, don't know if that was the plan.

So am I getting this right - you're using the ARC up front that's 35x2, running at 2 ohms? If so we're heading for trouble.

I see. If you want to stick with the JL stuff, I think they have a staggered 4 channel amp that does something like 75x2 & 35x2 that would work better for your purposes. Not to knock JL, but the ARC amps are in a whole different league, that 45x2 was probably more like 70x2.

Arc makes a good amplifier, but they are by no means "in a different league in terms of performance"... I will gladly put our e-series up against that amp...

looky here:

http://carsound.com/articles/publish/article_268.shtml

The review is for the six-channel e-series... it amply exceeds its power ratings as well.
