vxracer
Hello folks- I just bought my wife a new Regal Blue 06 Legacy 2.5i SE. I love the car. I changed the oil to mobil 1 at 1000 miles, but had to retain the stock oil filter. No one has any updated filter databases for the 06 yet. Does anyone know if it is the same as the 05? Drakuun
Yup.. think they are pretty much all the same- only diff I think the GT's have bigger filters, but they all fit the threads the same.
vxracer
Does that mean we can use the torbo's oil filter? I imagine it is a longer filter. I am also going to put gt size tires on when the time comes. I think they are a little wider I think 205/50 vs. 215/45?
Drakuun
Check this thread, might be of some use. http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15517&highlight=Oil+Filter+size Also- dig through these threads, these came from a search of the forums for "Oil Filter Size" http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15517&highlight=Oil+Filter+size As for wheels / tires- Read here http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4426 and here as well. http://www.legacygt.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=43 If still in doubt, Talk our resident tire guru to Xenonk. GTsleeper
wait a sec. turbo filter is smaller. use the one for the "i" version. well I do, that is non-turbo filter for my turbo car. to me it looks like one on top of another skinny just taller. Yes its wider. remember 205- is width in millimeters-- tread part, 50- is the % of the width of the tire--- sidewall, the last # is tire/rim size
Opie
Due to Subaru's P/N updating, all 4-cyl Subaru models now use the same oil filter; P/N: 15208AA100
vxracer
so i guess the nonturbo filter would be the one to go with i am deducting that mobil 1 filter m1-110 would be the longer oil filter to fit my car. I am very glad i found this website, and appreciate the help guys.
myGT
I just got my firsy GT06 turbo, it got 1200 mile and thinking of doing my break-in oil change any recommendtion of what type?
2Simpletons
I stuck with dino oil 'til 12K then switch to Mobil15W/30 after that. This is what a lot of people recommend. YMMV.
vxracer
I hear a lot of people saying to wait, but no one ever has any real proof as to why- porsche, mercedes, corvette, etc. all come from the factory with mobil 1, and thats what i use. I usually let the first 1,000 miles go on the factory oil to get all the metal flakes out the first time. no sense in throwing away fresh oil. AWD-Turbo
I bought several oil filters a year ago (PN 15208AA100), and I’ve used them all with no problems. I’m planning on doing another oil change in March, and I’ve read a few reports on leaky oil filters. I checked subaruparts.com, and if you search for PN 15208AA100, it returns 15208AA09A. They wrote to me in an email that this is the correct PN for the LGT. It looks like PN 15208AA100 is not longer produced. Have people used oil filter PN 15208AA09A without any oil leaks? If so, do you know what batch number it came from? (F08, F09, F10, etc.)
deneb
I got an oil filter a couple weeks ago for my LGT, they gave me the AA100 IIRC. It was black, definitely not the white 09A.
