'06 oil filter info

Recommended Posts

Hello folks- I just bought my wife a new Regal Blue 06 Legacy 2.5i SE. I love the car. I changed the oil to mobil 1 at 1000 miles, but had to retain the stock oil filter. No one has any updated filter databases for the 06 yet. Does anyone know if it is the same as the 05?

Does that mean we can use the torbo's oil filter? I imagine it is a longer filter.

I am also going to put gt size tires on when the time comes. I think they are a little wider I think 205/50 vs. 215/45?

wait a sec. turbo filter is smaller. use the one for the "i" version. well I do, that is non-turbo filter for my turbo car. to me it looks like one on top of another skinny just taller.

Yes its wider. remember 205- is width in millimeters-- tread part, 50- is the % of the width of the tire--- sidewall, the last # is tire/rim size

so i guess the nonturbo filter would be the one to go with i am deducting that mobil 1 filter m1-110 would be the longer oil filter to fit my car.

I am very glad i found this website, and appreciate the help guys.

I hear a lot of people saying to wait, but no one ever has any real proof as to why- porsche, mercedes, corvette, etc. all come from the factory with mobil 1, and thats what i use. I usually let the first 1,000 miles go on the factory oil to get all the metal flakes out the first time. no sense in throwing away fresh oil.

  • 1 month later...

I bought several oil filters a year ago (PN 15208AA100), and I’ve used them all with no problems. I’m planning on doing another oil change in March, and I’ve read a few reports on leaky oil filters. I checked subaruparts.com, and if you search for PN 15208AA100, it returns 15208AA09A. They wrote to me in an email that this is the correct PN for the LGT. It looks like PN 15208AA100 is not longer produced.

Have people used oil filter PN 15208AA09A without any oil leaks? If so, do you know what batch number it came from? (F08, F09, F10, etc.)
