ldc2335
i posted before with a finished project, but ran into a problem with the sensor housing on the wrx intake i was using, i think it was too deep,,,whatever the reason, it had me running lean, to the point of a really rough idle, so i got a K&N and H.i.D's for christmas and this is what i came up with, since most of the restriction is in the stock flex hose and resonator on the throttle body, i figured this would work great, which it does,,,very noticeable gain over stock and alot better throttle response....though it was very loud when i had the intake silencer off....so i put it back on and its perfect....again this is fully custom, its half dodge ram intake and half wrx intake all chopped up...just posting to give you fellow 2.5i owners some ideas...... before http://img494.imageshack.us/img494/6844/s30100514ci.th.jpg revised http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/7373/s30101127de.th.jpg hids autovizion ballast/igniters and muculloch 5000k bulbs http://img527.imageshack.us/img527/3206/s30101158px.th.jpghttp://img527.imageshack.us/img527/8552/s30100555tx.th.jpghttp://img527.imageshack.us/img527/7905/s30100652mp.th.jpghttp://img521.imageshack.us/img521/977/importstore18706346001482me.th.jpg

ebpda9
from what i have seen, an ef civic vx intake will fit. all you'd have to do is custom make the maf sensor bracket
ldc2335
the maf sensor fit in the wrx intake perfect, but seemed to be reading to lean, yet it was the same size tubing as stock, so i gave up on it, seems to be too picky,,im very happy with the current set up, i encourage all to try
dease42
(this may be a newbie question) I've heard of people having muffler shops bend the pipe for a custom intake. Is there a drawback to having a single piece opposed to connecting them? The only reason I can think of is bending the pipe constricts it slightly (think exhaust, there's a pinch in the bend)

subatwo
ya...be interested in some kind of detailed step by step. I just wish someone would actually make the custom piping for our intake, would make it easier.
ldc2335
there really is no step by step, it was alot of guessing and cutting...i recomend getting a intake from a older impreza rs and another piece of straight pipe and trying to rig something up, good luck

scottiemac
hey guys, im just wondering when you set up your COI(cold air intake) did you remove the resinator that is attached inder the filter box? as i have got everything together to do the pipe replacement and i just changed the filter over to the K&N job and noticed there is a resinator feed at the bottom there. just wondering if anyone has removed it or filled it in. I might keep it though just because my mate has a COI and his is very noisy and screams pull me over mr police man.

mickeyd2005
You guys running intakes should seriously consider sending merchgod your stock rom. http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76260&highlight=tuning Then he can add it to the enginuity database and you'll be able to tune your intake. moronmri
Is there a difference between the hardware of the turbo intakes verses the N/A's intake? On the back of the 2.5 motor I have a black box that would have been the intercooler on the turbo models, and the bends look the same. I was looking at buying the SPT intake to save warranty on the car. Any advice would be great.

The SPT intake for a stock LGT isnt the best actually the stock intake is the best for our cars but you CAn swap everything past the MAF sensor so get you some smooth intake tubing and couplers and make your own intake
