nebula72
While rebuilding our type ra block we decided to run an oil pressure gauge instead of relying on an idiot light so I bought the gauge which required us to swap out the oil gallery adapter to npt. I ended up getting a relocation kit due to space constraints and I added a splitter because it would be nice to still have the idiot light hooked up but now we have an issue where the splitter is npt and the OEM sensor is bsp which doest not provide a fit. I think running adapters back down to bsp would cause some space constraints.. Could I just buy a generic npt sized sensor and run that? I attached a picture to show what I got going on Edited April 20 by nebula72 Typo
Max Capacity
Search for, The Parker Store near me. Parker is a manufacture of fittings. They will have everything you could need. Also I don't see Teflon tape on those threads. A "street elbow" in the branch side of that T will allow you to mount the OEM sensor in the upright position. The street elbow may stick out enough to give clearance with the hex flats on the OEM sensor. https://www.google.com/search?q=The+Parker+store+++street+elbow&sca_esv=0058b4b1712ac891&sxsrf=ACQVn08Yhugh4faItLE9K1Z5m4CJIE7dpg%3A1713638825697&source=hp&ei=qQ0kZtKoKK6LptQPlLaPiAw&iflsig=ANes7DEAAAAAZiQbuTIl9SBeHw7G8oJ8Hc2KjMHLpR-s&ved=0ahUKEwiSoeiLutGFAxWuhYkEHRTbA8EQ4dUDCBA&uact=5&oq=The+Parker+store+++street+elbow&gs_lp=Egdnd3Mtd2l6Ih9UaGUgUGFya2VyIHN0b3JlICAgc3RyZWV0IGVsYm93MgUQIRigATIFECEYoAEyBRAhGKABMgUQIRigATIFECEYoAFI0U9QrQlYiktwAXgAkAEAmAGvAaABkBqqAQQ4LjIzuAEDyAEA-AEBmAIgoALoG6gCCsICBxAjGCcY6gLCAhAQLhjHARgnGOoCGI4FGK8BwgINEC4Y0QMYxwEYJxjqAsICCxAuGIAEGLEDGIMBwgILEAAYgAQYsQMYgwHCAhEQLhiABBixAxjRAxiDARjHAcICDhAAGIAEGLEDGIMBGIoFwgIOEC4YgAQYsQMYgwEYigXCAgUQABiABMICBBAuGAPCAgoQIxiABBgnGIoFwgIIEC4YgAQY1ALCAgUQLhiABMICCBAAGIAEGLEDwgIIEC4YgAQYsQPCAg4QLhiABBjRAxjUAhjHAcICCxAuGIAEGMcBGK8BwgIOEC4YgAQYxwEYjgUYrwHCAhEQLhiABBixAxiDARjHARivAcICCxAuGIAEGLEDGNQCwgIXEC4YgAQYxwEYmAUYmQUYngUYjgUYrwHCAhQQLhiABBjHARiYBRiZBRieBRivAcICBhAAGBYYHsICCBAAGIAEGKIEwgIFECEYnwXCAgQQIRgVmAMLkgcENi4yNqAHiMsC&sclient=gws-wiz 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. Max Capacity
Thinking more about it, you might be able to find a 45 degree street elbow. I used to make test set-ups in the Aero-Space industry, I've been using Parker fittings for decades. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. KZJonny
You could always use the oil galley at the back of the block by the turbo. I still don’t know if my oil pressure sending unit will clear the alternator either yet… but if not, I will do the remote setup like you have. I had to pull apart the wiring harness a little to free up the factory ‘replace engine’ sensor, but whatever. I didn’t want to have to put electrical tape on the cluster. But you can use the factory bsp plug for the rear galley and the npt one up front. (Or vice versa)
nebula72
There was no Teflon tape because I was just mocking it up with the OEM oil pressure sensor. I found an npt style sensor at AutoZone and I think I'm going to try it this is what it looks like
