wintergreen
Recently when taking the small M5 nuts off the fuel tank studs to remove the fuel pump one of them even after cleaning and carefully trying to walk the nut off the stud it snapped the stud off of the tank. It looks like they are pressed in knurled studs. The studs are pressed into a metal ring that is some how attached to the fuel tank. Anyone have a similar situation, and how did you repair it? KZJonny
Ugh. Welding is out of the question, clearly… Is there anything left of the stud? Or did it break off clean at the tank? You might get away with a little bit of fuel resistant liquid gasket in the section without the fastener. Maybe make a ‘bridge’ from a piece of steel that joins from the remaining studs on either side and help to keep some pressure over the middle bit?
