What versions of Legacy 2008 were manufactured?

What versions of Legacy 2008 were manufactured? I've seen some advertised as 3.0 R , others as 3.0 GX , can you tell the difference or is there a website that speaks?

Varies by market. U.S. offerings according to the brochure I downloaded were:

2.5i in base, SE and Limited trims

2.5 GT Limited 

2.5 GT Spec B

3.0R Limited

All sedan only.

Even Canada got significantly different offerings from U.S.:

Wagon still available for 2.5i and 2.5 GT Limited, 2.5i SE replaced by 2.5i Touring and 3.0R not available at all.

I have no idea what was offered in Europe, Japan, Australia etc.

so, mine came from japan, it's the Legacy model year 2008 with 3.0 H6 engine, however in the document it's not written 3.0 R , it's 3.0 GX, and I can't find anything of that version.

I think a GX is a mid-level trim.  Slightly upgraded from the base, with additional option packages.

not much info on 4th gen GX but there is some info on wikipedia in the 3rd gen page. Looks like it was an optional trim level in the Euro market, not Japan. 

May just be a misprint on your documents, there were at least a dozen variants of the Legacy in the JDM market. Not much info on Brazilian imports and what badges they put on them.

You might be able to send your VIN to Subaru or at least a Dealer to decode and verify
